How is he going to depict Revelations? That sounds like a tall order.
>>214537650Christ's resurrection always seemed to undercut the purported sacrificial aspects of the crucifixion. Not really much of a "sacrifice" if you're only dead for three days before coming back good as new. Any human who has ever died for any cause has more claim to call themselves a "martyr" than Jesus.
>>214537696>tfw Jesus is an allegory for the sun, setting at night ( death ) and being reborn in the morning ( sun rise )Jews just slapped their desert ahit onto what pagans were already celebrating
Threadly reminder that there are no firsthand accounts of JesusThe gospels were originally anonymous before the church added the apostles names for credibility and that they were written up to 90 years after his supposed death
It's been done.
That's the thing because John was shown a vision and told to simply write it down and convey it to the Christian community at that time. Is the Beast an actual dragon or did he just call it one because it fit the description? Revelations was written in AD 95. Imagine being shown a vision of the 2000s in AD 95. At least with the Passion it was something that happened in an already known place by already known people in a manner which was well documented at the time.
>>214537696He resurrected because God the Father accepted the sacrifice. Thus the new covenant was sealed. All men are now worthy of entering Gods kingdom through the blood and torture Jesus had to go through in order for all to be saved. Jesus became flesh so that he could emphasise with humanity and to warn humanity.
>>214537913That doesn't really change my point though
