You're telling me with all these billionaires today not one of them can fund a movie about the Byzantines?
>>
movies are about turning a profit, eastern rome isn't popular enough to for a film to make a profit
>>
>>214540871
I'm sure they could but no one cares about the Cuckzantians
>>
>>214540871
No one cares about brown people history
>>
>>214540898
Elon Musk can wipe his ass with $100 million and it wouldn't change anything. It's not about making a profit it's about influencing our culture using one of our foremost creative mediums
>>
>>214540871
Procopius' secret history is a veritable gold mine. Not for Byzantiboos though.
>>
>>214540938
And making a movie about the HRE would help Musk send what message exactly?
>>
>>214540938
I would not trust Elon Musk with a historical movie on any topic.
>>
>>214540938
There are cheaper and more effective ways to influence culture. Films are in a tricky spot because they're extremely expensive and also way less relevant than they used to be.
>>
>>214540938
Ok and why legacy does Byzantines have on our culture?

The HRE needs its day in the sun. Voltaire has made midwits convinced it wasn't interesting.

Yeah Ok my guy "just throw away $100 million dollars no big deal"
>>

Man, the fuck's wrong with you people? You're telling me that a movie about Emperor Justinian -- a leader who tirelessly devoted his life to salvaging his civilization during times of rioting, plague and mass migration, wouldn't be relevant to today's times? That a movie about him wouldn't have a positive impact on the way people today conceive of our own society?
>>

The importance of cinema has completely been replaced by short-form videos via TikTok, Reels, etc. There is no reason to use movies as a vessel for propaganda or cultural influence anymore. It's a dying medium, that's the sad truth, 25 years from now I don't even think Hollywood is gonna be a thing anymore. Rich people know they're better off putting their money towards AI bot farms and Andrew Tate style podcast clips.
>>
they cant make those kind of movies without skewing it through their prism of their modern ideology.
Example is Kingdom of Heaven. its a movie about Kingdom of Jerusalem, the crusader state. But its still about the little guy of simple beginnings, about how multiculturalism is great and religion is bad etc. They cant help themselves.
>>
>>214540871
>implying that billionaires are good people
>>
>>214541680
>religion is bad
>literally has an angel in it
>>

Elon is a good person
>>
Gone are the days when some scholarly type who comes from OLD money decides to fund a film about a biblical story or a Greek legend or the middle ages. The writer director is dead. Movies are just products valued for their potential viewership.
>>
>>214540898
>movies are about turning a profit
So, how did Joker 2 get allowed out the door in that state?
>>
>>214540995
Disney literally does it every week.
>>
>>214541726
Lol, lmao even
>>
>>214540871
Can we not argue for once and have a nice thread discussing the byzantines?

>>
No. Me me want Dark Ages Western Roman Empire film.
>>

What other billionaire uses his wealth in the transformative way he does? Besides Soros.
>>
>>214541260
>Man, the fuck's wrong with you people?
We're not importent begging a billionaire to fund some stupid movie.
>>
>>214541921
I wouldn't dream of wasting time scratching your itch to argue. A billionaire isn't some answer to your frustration.
>>
>>214541313
It's not entirely a bad thing though. Internet media gives ordinary people a chance to compete that isn't there with major film studios.
>>
Oh Elon is a good billionaire? How much of his billions has he given to the church?
>>
>>214540871
Hollywood like happy endings but the turks won
>>
>>214540938
>dude 100 million is nothing for me so I'll just spend it on w/e lol
This is not a rich person's mindset. This is how lottery winners go broke
