I tried to get followers and got some. Trust me, you don't want it. Instead of it making you feel important, it feels like a giant weight around your neck. I blocked all my followers and do not follow anyone. I use it solely as a personal log now.

It works fine as it is now. Shows that are only 1 season can be treated as a single long movie, everything else shouldn't be allowed. Which is why letterboxd is full of kdramas but not never ending american slop tv.
