Last year on Halloween I watched Sleepy Hollow with my girlfriend and lightening struck outside the window and the wind howled while we were watching. KinoI hope we can find another spooky, immersive fantasy/adventure movie to watch on Halloween with good sets and costumes but there aren't that many of them.Studios seem to think that if they're going to make a scary movie then they might as well make a low budget horror movie and maybe hit the next Saw or Paranormal activity than make a proper movie with 3-10 times the budget.

Besides that, it's just your perception, most big box stores will consistently put up Christmas stuff in early October. If stores just let Christmas stuff sit there until November, that's effectively less storage space for them to hold things that will sell regardless of holidays. Moreover, your stuff has to be shipped from China/India/Israel, which takes a lot of time if you need to get every store holiday slop.It's all logistics. If stores ordered their stuff to arrive in November, any sort of shipping delay means stores will get stuck with holiday crap that doesn't sell. Even small ones like 1-2 weeks late means less overall sales. But if holiday stuff shows up 1-2 weeks late and it's not even October, no one will give a shit. Sales calculus goes into this as well, it turns out that people will buy their holiday crap usually around mid-late October through early December. Due to snow and too many people holiday shopping, it's not uncommon to have shoppers buying things in bulk to just avoid the clusterfuck of holiday shopping. By the time the holiday itself comes around, most shit is bought out and people who buy the stuff on clearance are either last minute panic buys; or they just shop for next year's setup. Stores have to pull gotcha sales to bring people in on black Friday. Most "black Friday deals" are just for the whole month of Nov. There's no real desire to have people lining up for one day, which causes panic and violence. Instead, the deals are spaced out to make 30 days of sales rather than one.
