Realistically, what would you do in this situation?
>>

Realistically, just kill the dinosaur. The mercs are shown packing extremely high caliber rifles. They only get killed because dinosaurs in these movies are consistently immune to bullets for some unexplained reason even when shot directly down their throats from point blank.

Did they get the scale right? Were dinosaurs that large relative to humans?

JP dinosaurs are sometimes exaggerated in size for the spectacle value. But go to any exhibition featuring life-size dinosaurs; they feel massive especially when you're standing next to them.
>>
>>214631352
Even if you don't believe dinosaurs exist there's still giant as fuck animals on this planet that can easily fuck you up

And this is one of my favourite ones
Remember JP2 when the T-rex are pushing the trailer? It was massive and it was barely pushing it, look at this unit that's like 3 times smaller than a T-rex

I wouldn't even be in that situation. I have a deskjob, 9-5. Not some wagie wannabe soldier.

You gotta assert your dominance over creatures first if you want them to respect you.

I do wonder how real dinosaurs (not movie monsters) would react if they encounter humans. Considering the fact that we've trained dangerous animals like elephants, bears, tigers etc, I can see them being domesticated too. Just provide them with food, shelter, enrichment etc and pretty soon dinosaurs would associate us with easy living and domesticate themselves.

You named a bunch of mammals. I think crocodile or alligator brains would be much more likely.
That is to say, if its not hungry, defending territory or mating its probably not super violent.
>>
>>214635702
At that size it’s always hungry.
>>
>>214635614
It always bugged me how immediately eager to eat humans the dinos are.
Like in nature lions and bears and shit would only risk attacking humans if they are really starving, yet ever carnivore dino despite getting well fed regularly by the park staff dont hesitate to attack humans.

I always find it extra-humiliating when I see a video of someone dying and they immediately void themselves. You can see urine mixing into the blood on the floor. That guy Rittenhouse shot (convicted pedophile) already has a huge pile of shit visible through thick jeans seconds after hitting the ground. Well, maybe some of it was already there. But it made me nervous about letting it sit around inside me, so I always listen to my body and focus on going to the bathroom as quickly as possible, just in case something were to happen.

I would rather have my head sawed off with a dull box cutter it kicked around like a soccer ball than fall over of a heart attack on the toilet, or in public where I will be making animal noises and braying to strangers before I shit myself in their arms. And if I knew I were going to die ahead of time, I would specifically go out of my way to fast for days beforehand (as to avoid the routine digestive 'flush' around 24 hours and subversive LESSENING of bowel control for a period afterwards). Cremation would follow my death in any case to prevent putrefaction, which is also disgusting and shameful, but I digress.
>>
>>214635897
Those animals have a conception of human beings as dangerous. In JP the management would not allow one to be killed until the island was abandoned. They have no reason to fear us and even when Dieter was being a jerk to them, he proved that they're only gonna wait until you get lost and panicked before they eat you.
>>
>>214631003
The prevailing theories are they either missed or killed the mate of the Spinosaurus chasing the team for the entire movie. Of course then again the Spino is shown to shrug off the full impact of a plane and its propeller grazing its thigh, a Tyrannosaurus biting down on its neck and ramming into it and running straight through a large metal fence.
>>
>>214635920
One is the airfield (debatable if post planecrash counts as a different scene, or not), other is phonecall within stomach scene, with running through the fence hole, getting locked into a building, there is a T-rex vs Spinosaurus fight, also the river scene (with the finale, I only recall fire). I last seen the movie over a decade ago, or even further back. Did I recall all spino scenes?

>than fall over of a heart attack on the toilet, or in public where I will be making animal noises and braying to strangers before I shit myself in their arms

Often elderly people die on the toilet because they mistake one of symptoms of a heart attack as needing to go shit
You don't necessarily get chest pains, it can be radiating down your arm, up in your jaw. Or in your abdomen.

This is a myth, dinosaur brains and internal biology were far more like modern birds than any living reptiles. Gators were like their distant cousins, modern birds are literally still classified as dinosaurs. We're also finding now that dinosaur brains despite being small were arranged in a much more efficient way than previously believed and are therefore much smarter than previously believed, which isn't even remotely surprising.

Honestly herpetologists and paleontologists are fucking retarded and I'm sick of the retarded bullshit they spout.
>reptiles dont feel love and they cant tell humans apart!
>what? we can easily test this in laboratory conditions, we've seen them easily differentiating between humans or choosing affection over food like dogs, hell any random reptile owner can tell you these things.
>N-no that doesnt count, its not real because uhh, we cant figure out what part of the brain those emotions came from!
>also dinosaurs were cold blooded despite everything in their biology suggesting warm blood and their direct descendants being warm blooded!
>and they were AT most as smart as a "really dumb mouse"! How would a 9 ton bipedal active hunter that needs to quickly navigate rough terrain where one small misstep means death, memorize complex hunting strategies for large dangerous prey, and remember the best parts of its hundred km range to patrol survive then? uhh idk lol but im sure brains 60+ million years ago were just like today
>>
>>214642494
it really pisses me off how they kept looking to lizards for clues about dinosaur biology for so fucking long after discovering their connection to birds, in a lot of ways they're still doing it

>>
>>214642494
>>214642580
you're both retarded. Most non-avian dinosaurs were literally halfway there between crocodiles and birds, both in terms of metabolism and internal biology.
Small theropods were on average closer to birds, and Coelurosaurs/Maniraptorans (with the exception of large Tyrannosaurids which were usually more croc-like) specifically were CONSIDERABLY more bird than croc.
