Tron Legacy is one of my favorite Nu-Disney films and I like the first film a lot too, but it wouldn't be a terrible idea for it to be remade. Watch the Uprising TV show, it's based. There are some vidya based on Tron too, KH2's inclusion of it is based.

The things you hate are being retconned, like Flynn's death, in the upcoming film. No idea if it will be good or not, but they are trying to replicate what made Legacy a cult classic.
