It tries to be its own thing but endup looking like a ripoff/reboot of Coppola's Dracula. Matilda De Angelis looks stunning as always and Christopher Waltz plays himself again in the role of Van Helsing, this movie really lacks in the soul department, fuck it lacks in the simple "do you even care?" department.

Watched The Silenced (2015) It's a Korean boarding school for sick kids in the 1930s where the prize is the two fittest pupils get to go to Japan yes Japanese occupation is the literal bad guy
It's a pretty cute boarding school drama with missing students and bullying rivalry for most of it but it gets a little comic booky and less floaty towards the end and they could have picked more of one
it basically transfers the medical experiment fortress from northern china to surround a Korean girls boarding school where they're trying to build super soldiers and things backfire

Half the time I watch a 70s film I expect it to be a bit tame and then it's always the perfect template for everything that came after.
>>
>>214679191
It perfectly captures the era where you could murder a bunch of white women and get away with it.
