wouldn't he be the first person they would suspect of being the bay harbor butcher after finding out he's the brother of brian moser the ice truck killer?
When do they find out he's dexter moser
>>214676082who knew besides Harry?
>>214676323captain matthews knew didn't he? i don't recall
>>214676082i think only deb knew. she found out in season 4 and kept it to herselfi don't even batista knew. he died ignorant of the fact that the ice truck killer was dexter's brother
if doakes and batista had known that the ice truck killer was dexter's brother they would have known that dexter was the bay harbor butcherhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMWgkGni5XQ&t=29s
>>214676398>>214676455Matthews knew. He's the one that tells LaGuerta that Brian was Dexter's brother in season 7.
>>214676082You just posted a ragebait OP question cause you wanted to talk about dexter huh
I think Laguerta starts screaming at Dexter around the same time she figures out Dexter's brother and backstory. Until that very few people knew. Debra knew who Dexter's brother was in season 4 finale iirc but not many other people.I find it odd that in season 2 they have already figured the killer is someone in their station by the time they get their hands on the blood slides and then they never talk about how basically only Masuka and Dexter use bloodslides. Also why did the Doakes steal the bloodslides when they could not be used as evidence after being stolen anyway other than looking bad. He could have just made some plot to tip the authorities so they would raid the apartment and find the slides and then if it turned out the slides were not actually serial killer slides but "normal slides", what would Doakes lose? Why did he himself have to verify it's human blood it matches the victims? The police can do that.
>wouldn't he be the first person they would suspect of being the bay harbor butcher when they find out the butcher collects blood slides Dexter would be suspect #1 in a real investigation
Also this is a bait thread but can someone tell what the thought process would be in ITK was Dexter's brother secretly -> Dexter is also a serial killer.
>>214676795At what point of season 2? I would say that once they figure out 1) it's someone in the Metro 2) that someone uses blood slides. Then it would look pretty bad at that point. Also the fact that Dexter uses the police computer database to look at infinite amount of criminals and it's very likely he's not allowed to do that or it's even outright illegal to do so if it's not necessarily as part of some open case he's assigned to and shit.
>>214676673Nta but let's derail this thread with another question. In the 90s and 2000s, popular shows could push out 20+ episodes per year. Now we get 6 or maybe 8 episodes and then everyone takes a 2 year vacation. I don't believe that Dexter is any more labor intensive to produce than Star Trek TNG, or X-Files, or House. WTF? My only guess is that studios have so little confidence in these shows that they are unwilling to greenlight continuous production and insist on long rest intervals where earnings and trends can be micro-analyzed. But it's a good thing we have access to old kino streaming because otherwise there would apparently be NOTHING ON TV anymore. What is /tv/ even talking about at the moment? Peacemaker S2 is shit, and Terminal List S2 is MIGAslop.
>>214676082>they never ran Bryan's DNA after concluding he was the ice truck killer to link him to potential cold cases
>>214677047its just the results of allowing everyone access to the whole historic collection of television and movies. New stuff has to compete with other new shows, and older shows like Star Trek TNG, or X-Files, or House. And I think everyone knows that new shows just dont have the budget and attention and viewership to compete with the great shows.
>>214677047Resurrection had a very rushed production, the whole thing was made earlier this year and they didn't finish shooting until after ep 1 aired. So it may have benefited from being only 10 instead of 12 episodes that way, being able to crank it out on time, even though the story and pacing suffered. Some recent shows have had the opposite problem, like all the Netflix MCU ones, where for a while Netflix would always place orders for 13 episodes per season, but the writers really only had 8 or 10 episodes' worth of story, so it ends up feeling stretched and bloated with filler across the 13 eps that they're obligated to make
>>214677047Maybe people just don’t have anything to say anymore. Anything that isn’t political bullshit btw. Add to that the access of old tv shows. Maybe people just don’t have new stories to tell. What do we do?
end next season with Dexter being cryogenically frozen and then the following season be the ultimate showdown VS Robo-Doakes in the year 2107
>>214677346>Maybe people just don’t have anything to say anymore.Truly. Has every idea already been done?
>>214676754Doakes was too ragebaited by Dexter to think clearly and have a sensible plan of attack. Not sure why they thought someone who would just straight up shoot people and have IA cover it up would even bother being a meticulous killer with slides and shit
>>214677047Dexter was filmed from start to finish in months and there are still movies made which are filmed in single month or so. They don't take longer to make but it probably takes longer to pull the strings. It seems like people making shows, movies, games etc hardly ever get to work interrupted nowadays. It was common 20-25 years ago to push stuff every single year and get to work a full year freely on the product.Anyway we did get two Dexter shows this year so I think it's going great and if they pull the strings they might release Resurrection 2 next year because if they plan it right they can film it in months. I still hope it would be 12 episodes instead of 10 because episodes 9-10 are always rushed with these. It happened with both NB and Res.
>>214677079What cold cases would those be.
Reminder that Dexter stole a billion dollar yacht and we're supposed to believe that nobody noticed and it wasn't on video and he can just dump the yacht somewhere and no one will ever know.
>>214677893Yes
>>214677893He lives in some video game world where it's like gta or hitman where you can steal the enemy vehicle and escape and it says mission complete.
>>214676082They mostly cover up Brian Moser iirc, only a handful of people know. The real kicker is why nobody thinks it's odd that the Trinity Killer permanently vanished after killing Dexter's wife.
>>214677797you are right the had no reason to run Bryan's DNA it is a completely illogical thing to do
>>214676082Not necessarily, but Miguel sure as hell would have wondered. He didn't even suspect long after he knew Dexter's secret.
>>214678067Or how everyone connected to the barrel girls case just disappears without a trace..or the doomsday killers final tableau is a hasty suicide and not intricately staged and performed in public. And nobody notices Deb and Dexter showing up the the scene smelling like a petrol fire. And nobody notices a blood slide being logged as evidence. This is after they conclude that someone working for Miami metro is a the bhb and every high profile case they have still ends in the suspects disappearing or being murdered..
debs death was so sad. whyd he dump her at sea man. dumped her like he did all the serial killers
>>214678298I think that was the point. But she was wrapped in white, not black.
>>214678491she killed la guerta. she deserved black baga desu.
>>214678519yes and no, the long-term backstory was all these innocents are dying because of him, the side-effects of his efforts. His dad, Doakes, Deb, LaGuerta, Vogel, he corrupted sketchy folks like Miguel and Hot English Titty Vampire until they became killers. In that sense, Deb was another side-effect victim of his actions, as surely as LaGuerta or Doakes.
>>214676082>>214676323>>214676398>>214676455>>214676636>>214676754I think what everyone is missing is the fact that Lundy would have run background checks on everyone in Miami Metro after confirming that the killer was one of them. They even say this in the show. With the FBI's resources, Lundy would have easily found out that that Dexter's real name is Moser, and that his brother is Brian. Realistically that manifesto Dexter published should have been so much fucking worse for him.>>214677797When the feds catch a serial killer they always run his DNA, this is standard practice.
>>214678519They did call the final episode "Remember the Monsters", and they weren't talking about the men in black bags.
>two boys see their mom get murdered so they both somehow grow up to be serial killersIf you think about it Dexter is a really stupid show even from the start, I guess it makes a lasting impression when you watch it as a dumb 16 year old
>>214678607>>214678631is that new dexter series good or nah. dont really want to see without deb desui loved her half crying lanughing way of speaking
>>214678669The newest season is a fun watch. Is it good? I dont know but its Dexter and better than the previous 2 new ones.
>>214678642Original Sin unironically made this plot point less retarded.>Brian is shown to have psychopathic tendencies before the chainsaw incident (killing small animals)>Dexter is shown to be a good kid, totally opposite of his brother, even after the chainsaw incident>Harry sends Brian away after Brian tries killing baby Deborah>Harry then spergs out after Dexter kills some small animals and starts grooming him into being a super killer.Dexter would have never been a killer at most just a creepy taxidermist. Fuck Harry.
>>214677047It's really been bad for TV and television as a medium. In the old days there were plenty of 'normal' episodes where it was just the main cast doing their thing, without every single scene having to advance a meta-plot, or provide some kind of key character moments, or involve some kind of kino cinematography, and it let the whole thing develop at a reasonable pace. The balance is way off now, too many TV shows are trying to be expanded movies or novels on film, and the only shows that still try to be TV are police procedurals or similar boomer-slop.
>>214677429It could be kino. He wakes up and spends one whole episode exploring the future world, narrating to himself how he'll be able to continue his mission here and how the world is just ripe for the taking... and then in the last scene Doakes appears and says 'surprise motherfucker.'
>>214676082it's called suspension of disbelief, it's a tv show, in real life the shady forensics weirdo with a fixation for gore would be the top suspect 100% of the time every time
>>214678779They touch on it in s7 when Astor is caught with weed, Dex says some shit about how he wished he didn't let someone decide who he was going to be (referring to Harry)
>>214678067I think Dexter should have been exposed and had to explain himself that he was larping a double agent around Trinity & his family and he almost does get exposed but the FBI cockblock Quinn.Btw it's pretty disturbing to think that like 5 people alive or less in the show know who killed Trinity or that Trinity is even dead. Everyone else thinks he got away and while he may be too old to be dangerous, he would still be alive possibly.
>>214678079>>214678612I didn't say they wouldn't run Brian's dna but it would not be brought up or mentioned because 1) what would the cold cases be which would be interesting to the viewers and 2) why would his dna have necessarily been picked off some crime scene.
what do you think the case closing was like after dexter, deb,la guerta were killed off was like in miami metroon the one hand you no longer have dexter sabotaging cases but on the other dexter and deb were the brains of that outfit
>>214678243Didn't they at least find the dentist and Jordan Chase himself in the barrel girl case so for once they at least got to keep some bodies. I don't remember that season well so I don't remember if they got enough proof to say it was Chase doing that shit but I guess maybe.
>>214679022Retard, they run EVERY serial killer's DNA, even if they are dead, even if they are alive and in prison. They would run this DNA and start digging into Brian's past.
>>214678607Lila confessed to burning his ex bf alive in house and made it look like accident tho, before he ever met Dexter.
>>214678985Never liked Quinn. The only mini-arc I liked was when Dexter caught him stealing cash, so Quinn tries to butter him up, and Dexter's like eff off your entire existence, to say nothing of your stupid problems, don't even show up on my radar.
Why was Brian even more talented than Dexter if the setup is Dexter is so good only because he had a good mentor but Brian is never shown or implied to having any mentors.
>>214679158how was he good though he got figured out instantly
>>214679089Okay so the point being that if the feds were competent enough, they would eventually find Dexter and Brian were brothers even if it was buried deep and most info was destroyed. I was thinking about why would the viewers care about some cold cases like what if Brian killed someone before the show.It would look pretty bad for the BHB and ITK if their MO was somewhat similar but they were also brothers.
>>214679184His advantage was that he blindsided everyone because he could have killed Dexter in million different ways in the show but didn't want to do it even in the end and they only knew there was a serial killer because he wanted to expose his work. He also had the technique of draining the blood and Dexter thinks about why didn't he ever think about it. Tho this might just be some book Dexter thing where he supposedly hates blood so that's why the bloodless body is a big thing.
>>214678612Lundy knew what Dexter was or highly suspected him. He borderline sic's Dexter on the Trinity Killer.Matthews probably knew too but didn't care. He is clearly the type to want to put criminals in the ground, same as Quinn.
>>214679416She meets the code after killing Harrison with terminal monkeypox.
>>214679352true i dummy
>>214678067One thing they could have said about Trinity was that he killed Rita because Deb was coming after him. Dexter never really explains it or anyone else. That alone was suss.
>>214679508The "lundy knew!!! lundy knew!!" shit is retarded. He pursued the BHB and wanted to turn him in. If he really knew Dexter was the BHB why would he allow Dexter to frame an innocent man?
>>214676754>they never talk about how basically only Masuka and Dexter use bloodslidesimagine Dexter framing Masuka next season and the last thing he does before his execution is that fucking laugh
>>214678898Half of infinity is infinityMost realistic superhero is still a superhero
>>214679737We need a season of 10 what if episodes and one of them would be this scenario.
>>214679416Does she tell Harrison things like "Eat that hairy pussy bitch!" and tell him to "Stick out your tongue, I'm going to fuck it and cum on it!"
>>214680503DUDE FUCK YEAH GIRLS ACTING LIKE VULGAR COOL GUYS LMAOI hope 3I/Atlas ends us all soon.
