Bros, what are some series that you keep going back to? Series you swear by, even if most normies have never even heard of it?

I also really liked Manhattan. I'm a fucking sucker for period shit I guess.

I like the 90s version of outer limits alot it's from that cool era of tech
>>
Continuing with The Knick. Early 1900's medical kino. Second season was not as good, but still very watchable. Sad it didn't get picked up for a third considering its better than most sloppa they put out today.
>>
>>214680226
Nice, I remember that being on tv at night as a kid. Nostalgic asf

Also I really enjoyed Tales From the Loop even though most people didn't. I've been a fan of Stalenhag for like 15 years now kek
>>
Workaholics was always comfy th show for me
>>
>>214680277
The only reason The Knick wasn't popular was they put it on Cinemax instead of HBO for some reason.
>>
for me its The Expanse
>>
>>214680422
It's strange because I'm a fan of sci-fi shit but I've never made it past the second episode of this show.. I know its retardation on my part. Is it really that good? The reason I made this thread is because I need something new BIGLY kek
>>
>>214680176
is that catch and halt fire?
pushing daisies with this gay man is very comfy
>>
>>214680470
Yeah HaCF is seriously like top3 all-time for me. SO fucking good dude
>>
>>214680461
I vaguely remember my parents watching it. It sucked, IIRC and I'm not confusing it with another show.

Is this she show where they're on a space ship, but one guy gets kicked out and it's really a fake simulation?

or is this the show with an enemble cast and one of them is an asian who knows sword shit?
>>
>>214680176
Breaking Bad
>>
>>214680509
>Yeah HaCF is seriously like top3 all-time for me. SO fucking good dude
Are you gay or a woman? This period piece about the sales industry is easily mogged by Mad Men, and I say that as a big computer nerd who should be biased infavor of this if anything.
>>
Sopranos, just put it in the background while I work from home. Reminds me of sitting back, kicking a few and jerking off to Adriana back in the 00's. Good times.
>>
>>214681003
I agree Mad Men is better... I'd probably put Mad Men as my goat

I'm kind of a basic bitch. And bear in mind I know some of my choices aren't what most people would put anywhere near their top 10. I just like what I like.

1. Mad Men
2. Halt and Catch Fire
3. The Wire
4. The Sopranos
5. Deadwood
6. Generation Kill
7. The Knick
8. The Duece
9. Manhattan
10. Banshee

Duckman. same animators as Rugrats, early Simpsons. didn't discover it until more recently, so it's like this weird hidden gem to me. comedy cartoon in that 90s Nickelodeon style, but aimed at adults. recommend.

Farscape. I see a single episode and am transported to better times
>>
>>214683020
Farscape transports me to a wonderful time when I was 10 or 11 years old and it was a warm summer night. Always had the windows open because we were poor but every now and then a cool breeze would blow in and it felt like heaven. I can still hear the crickets and frogs from the woods outside my window. I would sometimes fall asleep early, only to wake up a few hours later to the warm glow of our old crt tv playing the outro to Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim. My brother would be wide awake watching tv still.

Man, early 00's Sci-Fi channel and Adult Swim... Such great times. Thanks for reminding me of that, anon:)

for me, it's The Magicians, Supernatural (up to the S11 finale + Scoobynatural as an epilogue), and The Flash (up to the S05 finale). i bought a small treadmill at the beginning of this year to start getting a little daily exercise in, and i've already finished a Supernatural rewatch while utilizing it, so now i'm rewatching The Flash. i'm trying to wait till i can replace my TV to watch Magicians again or start any new anime.

Breaking Bad scenes on YouTube, Blackadder episodes on my SSD, geopolitical stuff I barely understand also on Youtube and so on and so forth.
>>
>>214683755
that's a fair assessment. i'm not an unpathetic person. that's part of why i loved The Magicians so much. Quentin is the most "me" character i've ever seen. i've always felt drawn to fantasy and sci-fi far more than anything mundane. ergo most of my favorite shows are fantasy or sci-fi dramas that get me away from here.
>>
>>214682017
I hate duckman its painfully jewish and i am a jew
>>
>>214680176
Such a poor actor. Only concerned with how he's seen by the camera (pretty, attractive, desirable). Nearly nothing about the character's mental state, intention, goal, feelings, thoughts, where he is at that point in the story in relation to other characters + wrt to the theme. Soap opera level.
>>
>>214683996
>i've always felt drawn to fantasy and sci-fi far more than anything mundane. ergo most of my favorite shows are fantasy or sci-fi dramas that get me away from here.
you are literally me bro t-t
>>
>>214684002
i am not a Jew so maybe i can appreciate Jewish humour as some sort of outsider to Jewish-ness.

i don't even know what the fuck you people actually believe. American cartoons have taught me more about Judaism than anything else, because i don't think i have met a single Jew IRL.
>>
>>214680176
The Lost Room is pretty comfy if you're into cheesy scifi fantasy and young Elle Fanning
>>
>>214680226
two thumbs up from me
spooky-comfy nostalgia for me and a great dozing to sleep show
>>
>>214684146
>i don't even know what the fuck you people actually believe
1/4 has no clue, just retardedly ignorant about jews.
1/4 (mostly boomers) survive only on daily sustenance of jew sperm.
1/4 (libtards) hate jews only because they think jews are White.
1/4/ hate jews because they're intelligent and know the truth about jews.
>>
The coziest show ever.
>>
>>214680965
the last one you mentioned is Dark Matter, The Expanse is full of mystery meat minorities in space and an exceptionally ugly negress love interest for the main protag

it's always reassuring to stumble across another like-minded pal. i'm sorry you're living through it too, though. the more the world could benefit from saving, the harder it is feeling powerless to save it.

Fellow Magicians appreciator. Nice. I came into this thread thinking of the Magicians specifically, so it’s cool to find someone else who knows what a jam that show is.

I’ve had Eliot and Margo sipping cocktails together on the brain for days now. A quiet disillusionment with the world made manifest as a quiet entertainment of alcoholism. It’s charming.

yeah for me the monster of the week is a lot comfier than the apocalypse shit. two brothers roadtripping to shitkicker towns in the midwest is peak, really dig the grungier horror style of the first season too. still enjoyed season 4 and 5 but for rewatch i pretty much stop at lazarus rising

ayyy! it's always a good feel to see another Magicians appreciator here. Margo and Eliot are great. i liked that even as they arced they retained their core identities and would still indulge their vices together.

>>214685702
i enjoy the series up to S11 like i mentioned, but the first couple seasons really do have a very unique feel about them. sometimes i wish they had found a better middle ground between the spooky early atmosphere and the lighter-hearted later one.
filescatboxmoe/2s0v29.mp4

fun fact for any other Magicians and Supernatural enjoyers, Dean and Quentin actually share some parallels because the same woman wrote for both of them. her name's Sera Gamble, i think.
