Rank them from best to worst.

Alien and The Thing are both better than The Terminator, but I have a hard time choosing between them. Not to say that The Terminator is bad, but it isn't quite as good as the other two.

The Thing and The Terminator are better than Alien.

This is stupid.

My opinion is correct
Yours isn't

I can't agree with that. Merely agree with your right to choose.

The Thing > The Terminator > Alien

They're all 10/10 perfect movies

this, the order in OPs pic is correct

Alien and The Thing are tied.
Alien is a much *much* better film visually, and has tons of interesting stuff going on with its subtext and themes etc. etc.
but it's at its most interesting in the first half and tapers off towards the end.
The Thing is visually more basic (although in some ways it looks extremely good for what it's going for), but it's honestly scarier and stays interesting through the whole thing.
Terminator is the weakest of the three, but not by much. It's a classic. It's not aiming to be extremely scary. Probably the best one of these to watch on a date because of the Sarah Connor/Kyle Reese love story. Pretty iconic and quotable too. Terminator is basically a perfect movie for what it's trying to be, but it doesn't scare the shit out of me like the other two so I think about it a little less.

>Thing>Alien>Terminator
Both Terminator & Alien are worse than their own sequels, The Thing is the best among these.

If it was Judgment Day & Aliens, now that would be a headscratcher.

The thing is way better visually.

Thing
Alien
Terminator

They are all very close but thats my choice.

Nah. The Thing has some fucking incredible monster effects, and I like the way it's lit. Very naturalistic lighting like a Kubrick movie.
But man, Alien had artists like Giger and Ron Cobb, and Ridley Scott's visual direction ... it's a goddamn visual masterpiece.
>>
T1 > Thing > Alien.

All 3 are great movies, but T1 is the best movie, The Thing has cool practical effects, and Alien is overrated because past the visual design, it's a pretty simple movie.

Alien has the most interesting subtexts out of the three.
>>
>>214683751

I'd put Aliens above Alien, but T2 is a way shittier movie than T1, and Aliens. The kid is annoying, while Newt was at least cute.

>>214685543
Giger has the best subtext, but that wasn't faithfully reproduced on the screen because "oh no, sex, can't show that in a Christian country". So we get watered down facehuggers, and Ripley being a woman.
>>
>>214684574
Alien is scarier imo. The Thing has some frightening moments but it's got that slight b-movie vibe which takes the edge off overall

This

Terminator but The Thing is close

>>214685582
You missed at least half the subtext.
>>
>>214685626
Maybe I can see where you're coming from?
I think the Space Jockey reveal is terrifying.
But The Thing is a scarier idea for me to think about. That feeling that you don't know who you can trust is awful.
>>
>>214685712
Yeah they're both terrifying scenarios. For me Alien's is a total nightmare. Hard to think of anything worse than being stuck on a cramped ship in the void of space with an unknown monster killing everyone

Idk. The actual Xenomorph is sort of the least scary part of Alien to me. It looks really cool, but after the chestburster scene it kills all its victims pretty conventionally (besides the possibly implied rape with Lambert).
But man the way The Thing assimilates its living victims is fucking gruesome.
And unlike the Alien slinking around in the shadows, The Thing could be right there right out in the open in broad daylight, right in front of you, and you might not ever know it until it's worming its way inside you.
