According to a previous thread, the concept of the "Big Four" was invented by Jewthrax to include themselves among their betters. It was really only every about Metallica and Megadeth and they both sold out in the Nineties but at least Megadeth still occasionally remembers they were once a thrash band, though that doesn't forgive the fact that a recent album "featured" rapping by an African American. Don't meet your heroes, kids.

good mourning/black friday is one of the best thrash songs ever. that one and "deny the cross" by overkill are the essence of thrash metal for me

Drama aside, my favourite Megadeth memory is that when they appeared on the David Letterman show (more than once), David did this whole "Megadave" gag leading up to their performance. And also they had Paul Shaffer do a harmonica solo on "Train of Consequences". It's a shame that we don't have a high quality version of this:

Friedman, Menza, what a kino lineup. Incidentally, it was always interesting when the Letterman band would join in. Paul also played synths for White Zombie's appearance:

It’s scary how Jewish Mustaine is, the man has made being kicked out of Metallica his entire career.
>>
>>214690503
>Jewthrax

KEK. Also, slayer was bigger than megacuck.
>>
>>214690612
Mustaine is whatever ethnicity/country he’s in when he’s telling it. Bro claims to have ancestry from every country on earth it seems. Always with a story about how his name is etymologically derived from that country’s language.
He did kick a guy out of Megadeth for having a mixed race half brother, though.
>>
>>214690771
Sorry, you'll never take that from me, early 90s Megadeth has some precious memories even if they eventually followed Metallica into the commercial radio abyss. Slayer was always for edgelords.
>>
>>214690851
Slayer might be for edgelords but they where stilll bigger than megacuck.

Let's discuss something more productive. Do you have any favourite thrash revival bands? Havok aren't exactly new but they're the first name that comes to mind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WkXxTnZrtI

Zoomers are still doing the 80s tribute thing, right? I'd expect to see a lot more bands like this.
>>
>>214690330

>>
>>214690077
Fuckin zoomers and most millenials dont know how to handle criticism because they grew up in psychologically toxic echo chambers. Their parents never told them "no" and would threaten to sue any authority who did.

You know it. Countdown has some of the sickest guitar ever recorded. I don't know if this was still during the Cocaine Era, but there is a rumor that they had open-air tuners to ensure that their fucking vibrato was on key.

Music is one of those retarded subjects that has been completely poisoned by retards and record labels. This legendary status Metallica has just doesn't make any sense. They have a few good songs and the rest is filler. It's music by people who only see the business side of music and just do a basic job to sell records without having any passion for what they do or bringing anything to the table to create unique music. Yet people praise these guys and worship them. But also they have this insane reaction to St Anger seething that it's just so bad when it is very standard for the band. Just seething that the drums sound different than what is normal.

You will never have a real discussion about any of this. The only people with an interest in the subject have no original thoughts and no opinions that they were not told to have.
>>
>>214691362
>They have a few good songs
Their first four albums are legendary bro. You don't have to deny that just because they became cringe later on.

i heard hetfield kicked mustaine's dog, so mustaine (a taekwondo black belt) knocked hetfield out cold
fair enough if that's what happened
don't care if you are metallica's cowardly lion looking frontman you can't be kicking dogs
>>
>>214691414
Persuader is fucking great, but that's probably their weakest album. I'd put The Hunter or The Fiction Maze instead.
>>
>>214692400
That’s odd. Most people would say FM is their weakest. I thought the hunter was ok but it kind of dragged until the self titled song. EP was fantastic. WEB is their most melodic(Judas immortal is top three persuader songs). FM was great still and Necromancy was less catchy but still great.

My top songs would be
Turn To Dust
War
Judas Immortal
Sanity Soiled
Son of Sodom

Also their best chorus is on Scars. Fucking incredible.

I did. A lot of it.

And to this day they refuse to give me credit.

It's not like they can't write anything themselves.

I don't think anybody cares about the Black album, really cares about it, or anything after that.

But Master of Puppets was, you know, it was pretty good.

It is, but Metallica soon outgrew and outpaced the rest such that they were in their own league. Add Testament and you've your big 4, even if they're big 2-5.

>Mustaine was raised as a Jehovah's Witness[4] and is now a born again Christian.[6] In 1988, in response to the British government's Section 28, Mustaine said: "More power to them. It says in the Bible that men should not lay with men like they lay with women. I mean I don't wanna fuck up and not go to heaven."[195] In an answer to a question about Judas Priest having an overt homosexual image, Mustaine stated "I don't wanna talk about this."
>In a 1988 interview with Sounds journalist Roy Wilkinson, Mustaine spoke against illegal immigration, and stated that he would "build a great wall along the Mexican border and not let anybody in ..." if he were President of the United States.[195]
>In 1988, Mustaine caused a riot when Megadeth played a concert in Northern Ireland after he dedicated a song to "the cause," later expressing surprise that this was a euphemism for supporting the Irish Republican Army in the conflict between Northern Ireland's Catholic and Protestant communities known as the Troubles.[217][218]
>In 2009, Mustaine was interviewed by far-right conspiracy theorist and radio host Alex Jones for InfoWars, in which Mustaine stated that the album Endgame was inspired by his Christian beliefs and belief in an upcoming New World Order.
>n an August 2012 Singapore performance on the tour to support the band's then-new album Thirteen, Mustaine expressed his views of President Obama and recent gun violence in the United States, making an accusation that Obama had staged the shootings at Aurora, Colorado, and a Wisconsin Sikh temple in order to push a gun control agenda, while engaging the audience during onstage banter in between songs.
