This. I think I legit had my last time ever thinking this Love shit was real. I met this insane bitch at work and we hit it off right away. 1 month in it was her birthday, and we weren't dating, but I got her a b-day present cause I liked her. She told me no one ever did that for her before. Fast forward like 6 months later she started acting weird and distancing herself from me, she told me she is seeing this other fag at work and I get we weren't dating but I told her how could she not know I liked her too. She said some retarded shit like "I guess I never noticed it" even tho she'd invite me to go to parties with her and even sleep in her car with her cause we were both drunk as fuck.

Her new fag broke up with her for some reason and me and her haven't talked for months but my coworkers tell me she never even mentions me anymore and she is trying to get back with this other fag who dumped her. I don't get it

>If you try acting like these guys you just get fucked over or get called a weirdo

Both of those movies take place in 1995 and 2008 respectively. A lot has changed for the worse when it comes to relationships in the last 15 years
>>
>>214704885
yup. whores get it in their head as young as 12 now thanks to their iphones and instagram and tiktoks that relationships don't exist, and if they do they get programmed to want dudes who treat them like shit. They learn to lead guys on and never respond to texts etc etc

i'd be lying if i said i didn't miss those early days with her. one of the hotter women i've dated. but she was a typical modern female. i'm a very chill dude. i like to go to work, come home, hang out, and make with the love before bed. i ain't gonna waste energy trying to be "intense" all the time or whatever the fuck they crave. i own my own business and the bitch lived in an RV (her mom owned the RV park). i would have done anything for that bitch. except simp.

Shop for sure is super romantic. Witch is very funny and Veronica Lake is incredibly sexy in it but I wouldn't call it romantic.

French Kiss is honestly better than 90% of chick flick romance movies. totally unrealistic, yes. but it does feel good to see a happy ending.

For I Married a Witch, it is a "romantic screwball comedy", so it is not a pure romance. Even if it is mostly a comedy, it becomes enough of an endearing romance near the end that I felt compelled to include it. I understand why not everyone would though.

I was shocked by how much The Shop Around the Corner really holds up. It is just extremely well done imo.

Absolutely it does, and especially compared to the remakes. As much as I like Judy Garland, In the Good Old Summertime is very mediocre (even with Buster Keaton's contributions). The less said about You've Got Mail the better.

This movie could totally work in the next 20 years, murrays character could be a millenial incel with porn induced ED and scarjo's character is his very apparent love interest. The dramatic irony is he has so throughly fried his mind and cock with porn he can no longer even desire what he has longed for all his life. Thus the gooner learns the meaning of true love in the very winter of his life.

Perfect example of how a happy ending would have ruined the movie. If you haven't, go see it in a theater - the comedy (and drama) really comes across much differently on the big screen.
>>
>>214706491
>romantic screwball comedy
Oh, don't get me wrong - I really like that film (I have it on dvd). It's hard to get actual romance in screwball comedy, it really comes down to either the actors have natural chemistry together (Kate Hepburn and Cary Grant for example), or they're just really good actors (Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda in The Lady Eve, for example).

it was difficult to watch, i thought tom was doing so many things wrong and from experience it made me wince so much. it's such a real feeling though, being infatuated with someone who doesn't even really feel anything real for you. i liked this movie a lot. naruto was in it, someone told me, i didn't even notice her voice.
>There's something about Mary
one of my favorite comedy-romance movies. it hits kind of hard realizing you're not quite good enough for someone you think is amazing. it really illustrates the feeling of competing with so many people for the affection of someone, people who may be motivated by more vapid goals. in reality though it doesn't matter if someone has a better or worse reason for wanting someone, winner ends up being whatever the woman chooses. the scene where ben stiller acts all cool and leaves but then cuts to him crying like a baby is insanely real, they played it pretty humorously which was a great move. just such a nice movie.

Yeah, there are a bunch of films I go see whenever they screen, and Amelie is one of them. Which says a lot about how much I like the film - that's a lot of subtitles to read. As for Wes' films, it's just personal taste I guess. All his films are well made, I just don't usually connect to his characters very well.

>What are some of your favorite Romance kinos

The African Queen.

John Huston goes on location in Africa and makes an action/adventure romantic comedy with Humphrey Bogart as the drunkard captain of an old steam boat and Katherine Hepburn as the uptight puritanical schoolmarm he has to escort out of the jungle while dodging Germans during WWI. Through it all you have an unlikely romance between these two weirdos.

Its great.
>>
>>214709335
Really funny, sweet film, which is part homage to Roman Holiday and also changes the reasons why that film couldn't have a happy ending. Also I really recommend watching the deleted scenes, especially the one with Hugh helping Julia practice her lines for her new movie. Must have been cut for time but it's really funny.
