Should I give it a watch? How bad is it?
>>
Beyond soulless.
Even the third one is better than this pile of shit

If you can ignore the superior on every level original it’s an ok movie. But since it’s impossible to ignore the original it’s garbage
>>
>>214720975
Better than any of the sequels.
>>
>>214720975
Very average. Better than Robocop 3 and the TV series, but worse than Robocop 2.

>but 2 is just a rehash

So is Robocop 2014. At least 2 has the original cast and the same atmosphere as the original.
>>
>>214721138
They could just have made their own remake shit but they just HAD TO show off the old design and go all
>lmao no one would like that shit nowadays
Like why the fuck would you even do this, Jesus Christ
>>
>>214720975
It's actually pretty good, I think people were unfairly hard on it. It's no Dredd and it's different from the original, but that's because technology and world politics have changed a lot and so the new movie is focused more on modern concerns about automation and militarization of law enforcement, and transhumanism.
>>
>>214721637
He has the classic blue silver look at the end of the film. The one that they made fun of was the one with the transforming feature and police lights, and the joke was that they were basically designing a toy to sell to kids. The "blacktical" look that he has for most of the film wash pushed on him by the evil corporate hack.
>>
>>214720975
Not really worth it.
Nothing about the remake really justifiesits own existence..
It has like one interesting scene where they deconstruct robocop and you see that not much of him is left.
You're better off just rewatching robocop 1 and 2.
Shame, Joel Kinoman deserves a better career.
>>
>>214721637
They made this shit remake to capitalize on Iron Man’s success.
>>
>>214721827
He's done some really good shit for some TV series at least

there is a scene where they literally say "His soul is overwriting his programming!" and it's still soulless.

I remember almost nothing about it. No good things or bad things. I saw it, but I am still surprised it exists every time it is mentioned.
>>
>>214720975
It’s definitely not the worst RoboCop film but sadly it is quite bland. The villains are forgettable and the lack of violence does hurt it. Little moments like the ED-209s patrolling the streets in the middle east and bellowing “PEACE BE UPON YOU” at frightened people (and shooting at least one kid) were a genuinely decent way to update the material but sadly it doesn’t get the chance to lean into that stuff. Even the silly decision to leave his human hand intact because a corporate tool insists his dad always said you can tell a lot about a man from his handshake is left nonsensical because they cut the explanation out

i guess what i want is an open world robocoop game where i can upgrade and customize my cyborg body, guns, car etc
that would be kewl
>>
>>214720975
It's more like a Batman movie than a Robocop movie. Not bad, but leaves no real lasting impression forgettable

My cousin used to have one of these Robocop toys. It was heavy as fuck and could easily bruise a child, pretty cool

Sam Jackson in the propaganda promos was plenty of fun.

Yeah he was alright, I like him in most parts he plays. One of the only actors who I might see a movie just because he's in it (I did with The Founder)

Same mistake that was made with Pacific Rim 2 in my opinion.
Robocop was always suppose to be a clunky machine. This movie just goes "WHAT IF ROBOT BECOMES NINJA??!!?" fucking fags gotta ruin everything

And for only 5 dollars. The fucking INJUSTICE of these game studios!!
The game is actually really good and well done and fun

It's okay, just boring and kind of soulless compared to the original. It feels like OmniCorp made the remake themselves.

They tried to pull off the "mock the original at first, but actually introduce it later as the better option" and it backfired horribly

>>
>>214720975
I can't remember a single thing about it. Which tells me that it isn't even bad enough to be memorable.
>>
>>214720975
don't worry, after you finish watching it, you'll forget about it immediately.
>>
>>214720975
It's a better story than the original. It's actually far more interested in the intellectual problems regarding free will, slow corporate overreach into humanity, the norms of law enforcement, and how media immediately spins news into narratives before actually getting the information right (incredibly forward thinking).

Damn good movie. There's a weird song choice for an action sequence, but besides that, solid action and consistent tone with good character work.

>They tried to pull off the "mock the original at first, but actually introduce it later as the better option" and it backfired horribly
Just like the Devil May Cry fans with the DmC reboot, you continue the lies. The point is that he's redesigned by the suits because of some weird gut feeling about black looking "more tactical" or being more interested in focus groups.

I think the satire might have gone over your head, because unlike Verhoeven, this movie isn't yelling it at you.

Remember how the mayor in the original movie who was holding his own people hostage wanted a car with crappy mileage. Why the Hell would he want that? Oh, it was for the satire, because that means the writing shouldn't make sense anymore.
>>
>>214728801
Why are you blaming it on me as if I didn't get it? The audience didn't get it. Ergo, it backfired on the movie makers because they were making a satire they thought the audience would enjoy and instead the audience reviewbombed the movie, said it sucked, and was not faithful prior to even watching it.
>>
>>214728877
>Why are you blaming it on me as if I didn't get it? The audience didn't get it.
Wow. You think the rest of the audience is as dumb as you are. Talk about projection.
>>
>>214720975
It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's VERY modernized but in saying that, it was probably a good decision given how much nostalgia people have for the original, they didn't really try to go for anything that made the original so good.

It has some not-great looking faces/facial animation/lip syncing, and very very good graphics otherwise.
Given how heavy UE5 tends to be, it's impressive how this game manages to do all that chaos and environmental destruction + 60fps + good image quality on consoles
