Yeah you are correct even though you are using the media definition of 'narrative' in the context of the literal telling of a story and it sounds retarded.The movie betrayed itself at every turn until the end, when the sensitive black artist protagonist has been robbed of all agency by an angry blue collar black man, he is turned into a monster and then gets mowed down by the cops. Only then do you realize that the whole movie felt like it was building up to making the protagonist's killing seem both justified and merciful.Which could not possibly have been their goal when they got started. Fucking nutty.Some of the movie looked good and was well-acted, but every time it stopped to set up a kill, it was a juvenile skit about how white people are corrupt, awkward and/or mean and then the kills themselves weren't an effective homage to the original.I liked the first one
