I've played through underrail twice already, and encased and atom rpg are on my list after I finish colony ship (it's kinda meh, but I'm already half way through so I gotta finish). I thought the same as you; I torrented disco elysium years ago on release and thought it was a bunch of sniffing their own farts tier bullshit, I just couldn't get into it, and when I started getting heckled by some faggot loudmouthed kid when all I wanted to do was get some dude's corpse off a tree and do my job as a policeman and there was no way for me to tell him to fuck off and go home, I dropped the game and thought I'd never be back. On a whim I gave it another try a few months ago, and I can confirm that I (and from your post, you as well) had totally the wrong idea about disco elysium. The story and world is deep, deeper than the vast majority of games I've ever played. The characters are memorable and interesting. The plot gets way more involved and really sucks you in after you get into it. And the psychological element in which your mind is an entirely separate series of characters that you can argue with is groundbreaking. But you gotta give it a chance. You can't get turned off by the first thing that you find objectionable. Disco elysium is unique in that you can actually take sides and if there's a character you disagree with, you can often continue pressing them, debate them, and if you still don't agree after they tell you their life story, you can tell them to fuck off. I'm not sure how far into the game you got, but if you're like me and stopped part way through, I beg of you, try again. >>214746252Having played both Disco Elysium and Rogue Trader to completion I can confirm that Disco Elysium was easily the better experience. Once it hooks you, you want to see how the story ends. I remember thinking when it was finished that it would be really difficult to make a good sequel because it's such a unique experience and the characters, setting and atmosphere are so outstanding.
