Good:
>entire NK opening sequence (C4 diamond explosion was refreshing too, just a big puff of smoke not big fire balls)
>Berry in a bikini
>fencing turning into full on sword fight
>villain feels like a bond villain, flamboyant but suave and dangerous
>car chase across the ice
>Graves killing his dad
>diamond in Berry's belly button cooorrrrr
>excellent costume choices throughout

Bad:
>invisible car, too scifi, keep it simple
>windsurfing scene
>virtual reality shoot out, again too scifi
>>
>>214789280
It's great up until Bond reaches the Oce Palace and then it becomes a farcical mess with too much CGI.

The clown scene in Octopussy is the most suspenseful scene in the film, and one of the most suspenseful scenes in the series. It baffles me that people post it as an example of Moore being silly and campy. Now the scene where he yells like Tarzan, that was campy

Never. If the space lazer got off by accident or Bond had cracked the coordinates to target the minefield instead of anything else I could question myself for a second.

Craig Bonds suffer because of this piece because they had to go and try to duplicate it. Spectre skis vs. plane was good traditional fun but Bond dying etc. was just too much.

It used to be pretending, but now I think /tv/ just has shit taste so people praise the worst Bond movies. It's very similar with Batman where people will shill the Schumacher ones as being the best.
>>
>>214791949
There's ONE (1) good Craig film. They had a fantastic start and completely squandered it. I wouldn't have even minded if they'd kept it as a grounded and gritty reboot but they stuck Craig in a bunch of scenes that he just couldn't pull off, had unbearable side characters, and forced a nonsensical plot into every film for no reason.
>>
>>214792778
I'm really tired of people acting like CR was a good movie. It's the best Craig film, but all of the Craig movies are worse than the crappiest pre-Craig Bond movies. It's a jumpy Bourne clone mess because they decided to re-invent the wheel after Austin Powers.

It's still the worst of the non-Craig films, but it's saved by being entertaining enough. I'd gladly watch it over Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time To Die, of which I don't really care to ever see again. The rest of the series is always worth revisiting often.
>>
>>214792580
The reason is because the bulk of the Craig films drastically change what made Bond movies what they were. They went from Male escapism to far too dramatic and self-serious. The worst of the pre-Craig films were still very entertaining because they held on to tried and true formulas and tropes that made the series unique and timeless. The production company changes that coincided with the Craig run is proof of people trying to change things for the sake of change without having a need to do so beyond personal preference. Broccoli would have hated what his daughter did to the series.
>>
>>214794125

Casino royale came out 4 years after that, but it feels like there's 20 years separating the two.
