Season 1 was great. It's quite balanced, all the characters have flaws, it starts off with the racist terryism angle but quickly makes clear that the story is about something else. This new episode is just a gallery of scenes in which the men are idiots and the women are clever. And I don't think I've conveyed to you just how 2D and offensively rudimentary the conservative politician character is, it's ludicrous.

The terrorists are basically hapless dipshits that shoot up a village, kill penguins, fail to bomb a train, and don't assassinate Mohammed because Coe accidently kills Nigel so they consider that box ticked, and they want to go back to Abbotsfield at the end to finish the job whilst there is media attention on the village having a memorial service. Probably the whole shootout in s3 brings the differences home. Only Duffy and his goon really have guns, the private security guys have batons and basic riot gear and scatter when two or so of them are gunned down. Show more or less has it that the Slow Horses see a fuck ton more action than the average worker at the Park.
