>>214802072So did anyone who actually watch this movie also like this movie? I saw it today and found it to just feel dirty and not even in a sexual or gritty way. Just cynical in such a leftist hateful way, as if it had little grounding in reality but was made of the shit particulates of a progressives opression fantasy. People said it was funny and honestly I found the humor to be meandering and boring. The overall politics was pro-violence and painted right-wing america as pyschopathic. The main black bitch everyone was fawning over was ugly and obnoxious as fuck. The action sequences were beautifully shot but it's being compared to T2 in the press and it comes nowhere close to feeling like a big-scale action film. Rather, it's a political personal-drama dressed with guns and fender benders. Most of the characters seem so cartoonish or retarded that there isn't really a star stealing the scene except for the daughter character as an emotional anchor. You feel pretty bad for her being put in the type of position she's put in given she's knows nothing and is at fault for nothing. I read the book and it's my least favorite Pynchon, but I still thought it was okay/good. The book had much more life and color to it and there's a relatable sentiment in it if you appreciate 60's counter-culture. This movie feels to be celebrating a counter-culture that only the brainwashed loonies and normies have flocked to and is boomer-blind. I'll also I am huge PTA fan and my favorite is The Master, Boogie Nights, and Inherent Vice

It was okay. I didnt expect this directors references to be so overt and lazy. It falls flat thrice too often in stakes and like most 20s thrillers the irony poisoning of hollywood safe constructivist affectation makes the only character of note the henchmen of the cooling and poorly acted sean pean character. Motherfuckers sitting on plastic and hes got jokes.
