If you're left-wing, you think this portrayal of America is a true story, and the bad guys really are just pure evil as depicted in this film. But it's so cartoonish it's absurd anybody would take this seriously. Then you have the hype about this being an action film, as if that might be the ride you're ultimately on and you can ignore all the overt and subvert political leanings. But it's really just a picture in the same scope of a Coen brothers film or Dennis Velinueve, but feels like a bag of cheap camera tricks to make the movie feel bigger than it is. I think PTA approves of the guns, violence, revolutionary activism it takes to win his Hollywood version of America.
