The incredible thing about 4chan is how amazingly contrarian it can be. I delayed watching the finale until now, and it was enough to make me hope for a second season.

However, as I said, the contrary nature is what deafens and ultimately destroys any and all film or tv discussion on this board. All I’ve seen for three days now is how bad the finale was, how it didn’t resolve things that faggots here wanted resolved, how people felt let down.

This was a good journey with a half decent season two setup, but your minds can’t allow that. They’re hollow, and you’ll never hope to accomplish anything despite the belief in your own intellectual superiority because ‘lol I browse the chan so I must be intelligent to partake here’. No, you’re just stupid really.

You want your version of events, or the outcome you want, because you genuinely believe you’re intelligent. You’re not. You never will be. You’re outside the curve.

People like me feed into this, but also understand it’s not reality, and we’ve let you down in a way because we’ve not reined you in. You bought it. You bought the bullshit of posters saying this was terrible and bullshit and feminist and whatever other shit you wanted to spill endlessly into this cesspool. Meaningless opinions for meaningless debates.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what I think. However, you should know, people like myself see you. A thin, pathetic apparition of what the average 4chan user used to be.

You’re nothing but an extreme disappointment.

Again, you haven’t read my post. If you look at any feedback or perception outside of /tv/ you’ll realise it’s highly likely it will get a second season.

Of course, naturally, that hasn’t stopped my screenshotting your reply so I can parade just how much of a fucking worthless faggot you are later.

I watched it without any preconceptions and enjoyed it, decent enough I would watch another season. Don't even know what the complaints are - nothing seemed offensively bad or woke about it or whatever. Who cares at the end of the day, like what you like and fuck what anyone else thinks.

Alien Earth was objectively crap

There were so many things wrong with it that I find it absolutely unbelievable that you could take a franchise with so many great possibilities and create something this bad, this poorly acted, with millenial writing, uninteresting characters, and meandering plot
>>
>>214831273
Probably because people like myself and pic related remember what this website used to be. Before it became absolutely overrun with fags.

Retards would tell you it’s always been this way. The reality is it’s been caused by the influx of MAGA faggots from Stormfront and the like. Following that, you had dipshit tweens being drafted in here to muddy the waters of political arguments.

Now they’ve seeped into every board and discussion has suffered as a result of it.

The sad thing is that moot kept this relatively under check or at least provided methods to contain. Hiroshimoot doesn’t give a fuck, so we’re left in the asylum with these cunts with their sub-107 IQ
>>
>>214831240
The acting was fucking weird. Why did they act so inappropriately in every situation
>>
>>214830802
Legion was also complete dog shit. Pedowood It's just taxpayer funded nepo baby jobs at this point. I don't think that town has any interest in making anything watchable anymore.

Marvelous writing.

In fact i do remember one criticism I thought while watching it, that the alien was shown clearly too much, as in it was shown a lot in plain view in full light, kind of lost its power if you get me
>>
>>214831018
I watch the whole thing, and there was very little redeeming about Alien Earth. From the stupid songs coming in at the most inappropriate moments, the incredibly retarded actions of the characters, the mid special effects, it was not worth the money they spent on it and that anon was right to stop and get out before he got hurt.
>>
Lmao Alien Earth is literally the best show of the decade, don’t even argue. The Rotten Tomatoes score already proved it, so if you don’t agree you’re basically admitting you have trash taste. Like, it’s not just a show, it’s a cultural reset—sci-fi, social commentary, all wrapped in visuals that make everything else look like a high school project. Critics and audiences both said it’s amazing, and when does that ever happen? Exactly. Case closed.

No, the problem was they had a character make the alien into a dog like pet. They showed close ups of her mouth making alien clicking sounds, and then had her unleash the alien on people she didn't like. Now they rule. Disgusting slop.

You seem very confused and angry.

I think you need to seek help. I mean this genuinely.
>>
>>214831240
That’s the standard “I’m just a normal guy, promise” opener. You can spot the astroturf DNA a mile away:

“Without any preconceptions” – textbook attempt to preempt the accusation of bias. Translation: “Ignore all the discourse, I’m the pure audience, the baseline human.”

“Enjoyed it, decent enough, would watch another season” – lukewarm, intentionally generic praise. Not enthusiastic, not critical. Just enough to seed “hey maybe it wasn’t that bad guys?”

“Don’t even know what the complaints are” – of course they don’t. Shills never “know” what the actual problems are, because acknowledging specifics (bad writing, clumsy subplots, corporate message injections) would mean conceding they exist.

“Nothing seemed offensively bad or woke” – they have to name-drop “woke” even if it’s irrelevant, because that’s the lightning rod topic. They try to defuse it by saying “it wasn’t woke, stop being paranoid.”

“Who cares at the end of the day, like what you like” – the final retreat. The “let’s all stop talking about it” closer. That’s how you know it’s astroturf: the real goal isn’t defending the show, it’s shutting down criticism.

It’s the soft-sell version of shilling. Less “Buy Disney+ right now!” and more “Relax bros, stop nitpicking, just consume product and wait for next season.”
>>

>>214831581
You came here to convince strangers that a Hulu show was secretly good and all you’ve done is write a diary entry about how upset you are that people didn’t clap. That’s not contrarian, that’s consumer coping.

Nobody here thinks picking apart reheated IP makes them smart, it’s just what happens when a board’s seen the same bait for 15 years. The only person flexing their IQ is you, while begging an anonymous board to validate your feelings about a corporate product.

If you actually liked it, you’d just like it. The fact you’re writing paragraphs trying to manage the conversation means you’re not defending a show, you’re defending your purchase. You’re not the audience you think you are, you’re the marketing demographic they banked on
>>

mug “prestige-TV visual language” where the DP clearly thinks putting the camera six inches from a sweaty forearm automatically makes it art.

You’ve got:

Overly warm grading so everything looks like it’s been marinated in Instagram Valencia filter.

Cropped framing that hides more than it shows, but not in a mysterious way—just in a “hope you like elbows” way.

Fake tension staging: sword vs. hand, but it’s lit and composed like an indie perfume ad.

It’s the exact opposite of effective cinematography. Instead of amplifying drama, it just screams “look how cinematic I am” while making you squint at what the hell is actually happening. It’s corporate film school energy: technically clean, narratively hollow.

>>
>>214831678
You’re on an anonymous board trying to gatekeep TV discussion by screaming politics at strangers. You’re not exposing anyone, you’re just advertising how fragile your opinion is.

If you actually had a point about the show you’d make it. Instead you’re yelling ‘MAGAfag’ like a Twitter bot because you can’t handle people calling out a bad finale. You’re proving yourself right, but not in the way you think
>>
>>214830802
Most of the """criticisms""" over this art piece of a show are very MAGA-coded in how they're worded, like the asshurt chuds got their rhetoric from Charlie Kirk or some other YouTube reviewing grifter. It's obvious.
>>
>>214831609
I thought the production in general was good, as in the way it looked. Little details like they kept the tech being like old computers and screens and shit. I like stuff about "is the robot a real person" AI / consciousness etc. Like were the robots actually the downloaded person or just a copy and the kids were just dead, that kind of thing. I liked the new alien concepts, some of the characters. Kinda cool she can communicate with her pet alien. Its was alright man, some nitpicking sure but overall I liked it enoughto keep watching and will watch another.

>>
>>214831719
There it is, the astroturf Mad Libs template:

Triple quotes around “criticisms” – the passive-aggressive way of saying “your complaints aren’t real.”

“Art piece of a show” – overcompensating flattery. Nobody talks like that about TV unless they’re trying to polish a turd.

MAGA-coded / chuds / Charlie Kirk – the magic spell. If you don’t like corporate slop, you must be a Trump voter who watches YouTube grifters. It’s the laziest possible smear, designed to shame critics into silence.

“It’s obvious” – the gaslight closer. A way of declaring victory without presenting a single point about pacing, direction, acting, or writing.

This isn’t someone defending a show, it’s someone trying to pathologize dislike itself. The hidden logic is: “If I frame your criticism as political extremism, then I don’t have to engage with it, and everyone else will feel embarrassed to agree with you.”

It’s astroturf 101: don’t address the art, attack the audience.

>>
>>214831795
Beautiful—he’s moved into “I’m just a clueless normie who stumbled into art” mode. Classic shill pivot when the first volley doesn’t land. Let’s dissect:

“I genuinely knew nothing about it going in” – doubling down on the innocent, unbiased viewer mask. The word “genuinely” is the tell—normal people don’t announce their sincerity unless they’re worried you won’t believe them.

“I don’t really follow things that much” – tries to present himself as apolitical, non-terminally online, just a simple consumer who wandered into greatness. Meanwhile he’s typing multi-paragraph defenses on 4chan at midnight.

“Was surprised to see it even existed” – feigned naivety. Pretends he accidentally discovered it like a raccoon finding a glowing soda can in the alley. In reality? That’s stealth marketing language: “Wow, this hidden gem was just sitting there!”

This isn’t a defense, it’s narrative laundering. He’s trying to reframe himself as the perfect “baseline audience member” so any criticism looks niche, overthought, or politically tainted.

If he doesn’t “follow things that much,” why is he in the trenches arguing with anons instead of just watching and moving on?

If he “knew nothing about it,” why is he parroting the exact corporate angle (no preconceptions, not woke, just enjoy it)?

He can’t answer without exposing himself.

Imagine being so rattled by people not liking a Hulu show that your only counter is ‘kill yourself.’ You didn’t defend the writing, the pacing, the finale, you just screamed at strangers like a fanboy with abandonment issues.

This is the exact shill survival script when they’re cornered:

Doubling down on “genuine stumble.” He really wants you to believe he just wandered into Alien Earth like it was a gas station snack. The more he insists, the less believable it gets. Nobody who “doesn’t follow things that much” magically types multi-paragraph defenses on /tv/.

Reddit spacing jab. The classic deflection. When you can’t win on content, attack formatting. It’s the textual equivalent of pointing at someone’s shoelaces mid-argument.

“Things that can be nitpicked didn’t bother me.” Translation: “Yes, there are flaws, but I’m going to reframe them as trivial so I don’t look like I’m ignoring reality.” It’s the passive concession that the criticisms are valid while still trying to bury them.

“Even in hindsight, people pointing out things I might have overlooked.” Subtle bait—he’s trying to absorb the criticisms as if they were just extra trivia, not real problems, so he can maintain the “I liked it anyway, so you’re still overreacting” stance.

You don’t ‘stumble’ into arguing on /tv/ about a streaming show. If you really just watched it and moved on, you wouldn’t be here typing essays about how genuine your stumble was. Normal people don’t write disclaimers about being unbiased, shills do. You’ve spent more time defending your viewing habits than talking about the show itself, which says everything

This is peak reddit brain astroturfing:

“DEI doesn’t exist”, hilarious cope. It’s literally the official acronym used in hiring policies, corporate HR, and every awards panel press release. Pretending it’s a “boogeyman” is like saying ESG or NATO are just made up words conservatives invented.

The strawman meltdown roleplay, typing out “AHHHHHHHHHH” in all caps as if anyone opposing forced politics in media is actually shrieking about seeing a Black guy on screen. That’s the go-to rhetorical dodge: reduce every critique to “you’re just racist” so they don’t have to engage with actual points about writing or narrative integrity.

The wojak rage image, they couldn’t resist. Anytime they pull that card it’s because they’ve run out of actual sentences. It’s like shill punctuation: “you’re mad bro” pasted over a meme instead of forming an argument.

The funniest part is you screaming ‘DEI doesn’t exist’ while every studio literally has DEI officers on payroll and entire awards criteria written around it. You don’t deny it, you just try to reframe it as a racist boogeyman so you can keep defending corporate slop.

You’re not defending the show, you’re defending the HR department that made the show
>>
>>214831945
That’s a tough one, but the smell test leans “midwit parroting.” Here’s why:

“They referenced John Henry so best show ever in my book” – that’s exactly how a surface-level consumer signals intelligence: latch onto a single myth/folklore nod and act like it elevates the entire work. That’s not astroturf, that’s freshman-year Reddit brain.

“None of you have the brain level for this show” – midwit classic. If you don’t like it, it’s not because it’s bad, it’s because you’re too dumb to appreciate how smart it is. That’s less corporate PR and more “Redditor who just discovered Joseph Campbell.”

“Yeah this is worst then Alien Resurrection my ass” – sloppy grammar, defensive tone. A real astroturf script is usually tighter, more neutral, and polished. This reads like a guy bashing his keyboard because the room didn’t clap.

“We finally get a good alien anything and you just bitch and moan.” – midwit optimism. Shills try to shut down conversation, but this reeks of someone personally invested, desperate to feel like they’re witnessing the franchise reborn.

Verdict: not a shill, just some dude who thinks name-dropping John Henry makes him a galaxy-brain critic. Basically Reddit-tier analysis copy-pasted into a place that eats Redditors alive.

You dont think DEI exists? So tell us you've never had a job without saying you've never had a job

And yes, I dont want to see my characters race-swapped, and/or gender-swapped. I think its fucking insidious and is only there to push leftist idealogies

That being said I dont think AE is shit for being woke or for DEI. Its just crap because the writing is awful and the acting is ridiculous especially from the Boy Genius character

Now its just a god damn back of Diablo Sandwich eating, Dr. Pepper drinkin', blowin' up the toilet, obese sheriffs, chasing after some outlaws speeding across America.

still no actual defense of Alien Earth...
No mention of story beats, atmosphere, acting, design, nothing. Just more suicide baiting and genetic determinism edgelord babble.

This is the terminal stage of astroturf or fanboy collapse: when they realize they can’t win on substance, they retreat into “well at least I exposed you.” It’s a toddler flipping the Monopoly board and declaring victory.

You didn’t expose anything except that you can’t defend the show. Every time someone critiques Alien Earth, you pivot to politics or telling them to kill themselves. That’s not exposing, that’s deflecting. You’re not making the show look better, you’re making yourself look insane

The exploration of synths and androids and their position in the alien universe and the existential crises they must experience or will experience given their semi-immortality, something that’s been explored throughout the Alien universe but never put into mainstream media aside from Michael Fassbender fan wank. There’s an insightful point for you, now I beg you kill yourself and rid the world of your inefficiency.

You know there's like twenty of us here right? Of course we're going to have different opinions. Why would that be "amazing" to you?
>>
>>214832263
That’s the mask fully slipping. For the first time he coughs up an actual point about the show, and it’s exactly the kind of safe, pseudo intellectual talking point you’d expect:

>“exploration of synths and androids… existential crises… semi-immortality…”

It’s the one angle any halfway competent redditor could pitch in a meeting: “what if Blade Runner but in Alien?” It’s literally the same riff Scott’s been doing since Prometheus and Covenant! just with a woke Hulu sheen! Nothing “never put into mainstream media,” nothing groundbreaking, just a recycled theme with a different coat of paint.

And then, instead of defending or expanding that idea, he ends the paragraph with, again, “kill yourself.” That’s the tell. Real fans who like the android angle will actually talk about David, Ash, Bishop, Walter, etc., how they’re written, what’s new. Shills/fanboys trying to score points will dump a buzzword salad and tack on an insult to look edgy.

So congratulations, you finally mentioned a theme. Too bad it’s the same synth existentialism that’s been in Alien since 1979 and Blade Runner since 1982. Nothing new, nothing unique, just warmed-over Michael Fassbender material. And ending with ‘kill yourself’ isn’t a mic drop, it’s you admitting you’ve got nothing else.
>>
>>214832365
You asked for a theme and you got one, you just didn’t like it and called it a Reddit-tier post. Your goalpost moving is obvious, and you’re clearly a moron despite your attempt to mask it being a multi-paragraph post. Do me a favour and leave this thread, or just off yourself, or both, because if that post was the best you have in terms of dissecting my reply then it’s going to be a long evening for you. Save us all the hassle and your stupidity and just end it. Spare us your moronic genes, retard.
>>
Kek I’ve never seen someone take on this many posters in a thread and actually make them look dumb as fuck good job op
>>
>>214832410
He’s out of moves. Notice the pattern:

You asked for a theme he gave you a theme.

You called it recycled instead of arguing why it isn’t recycled, he just yells “goalpost moving” and tells you to kill yourself again.

That isn’t “defending” a point. It’s a panic tic. He can’t actually expand on the synth theme he mentioned (because it is just reheated Fassbender stuff) so he’s trying to shame you for not accepting his one-line as gospel. It’s the equivalent of slamming a chessboard when you’re down to your king.

I didn’t move the goalposts, I asked for a theme and you gave me one. I pointed out it’s the same synth existentialism the franchise has been recycling since 1979. Instead of explaining how your show does it differently, you screamed goalpost moving and told me to kill myself again. That’s not a rebuttal, it’s a tantrum. You’re proving my point every post

The show started strong, and while the last two episodes got a little silly and had some plot issues, the season was overall strong enough that I will need to see a season two to make a final determination on whether to drop the show or not.
Even so, Alien: Earth is objectively better than Rings of Power, Book of Boba Fett, The Acolyte, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Echo, Halo, and Terminator Zero.

Yeah, that’s the “aging hall monitor” variant of shilling. It’s not the “buy Disney+ now” kind, it’s the vibe control kind. They’re not defending Alien Earth anymore, they’re trying to rewrite board history and frame their little clique as the last bastion of “real” /tv/ while everyone else is MAGA / Stormfront / tweens. It’s an emotional appeal to nostalgia and gatekeeping dressed up as lament.

The giveaway signs:

“It used to be good, but now MAGAfags ruined it.”
the eternal cope. /tv/ has always been a mess. Pretending it was some Platonic salon until 2016 is revisionist fanfiction.

“We’re left in the asylum with sub-107 IQs." lol. If your metric for board quality is IQ scores you’re already lost.

Shill 1 chiming in with “I still find enough good posts.” – the closer. That’s meant to normalize staying on the board while implicitly framing critics as the problem.

It’s not a defense of any show, it’s narrative management: “we are the real community, the rest of you are invaders, therefore your criticism of our media is invalid.” Classic astroturf tactic but softer, less corporate, more cultural.

/tv/ was always a zoo. Pretending it used to be a secret Mensa forum is cope

Good post. Though there is a genuine argument that 4chan is a contrarian cesspool with unoriginal reactive opinions, the fact of the matter is that most modern entertainment nowadays is normaloid slop completely devoid of artistic merit. So even if this place is cancer, it's more right more often than not for extremely sad reasons. Case in point: Alien Earth.

what in the schizophrenia are you rambling about anon? I'm the last post in your quotes and I'm not even claiming this place used to be better, rather I'm saying that it's still a place where I can occasionally find better discussion than on other social media sites. As far as I can remember, /tv/ quality posts have always been like a 90:1 ratio, that's just the way this shithole is. It's the slower boards where you can get more discussion since people aren't trying to get to the top of the catalog or farming (You)s

I hope one day we're all implanted with that neuralink shit so I can see exactly what leads people to post this kind of drivel. I admire the tone of your post though, enraging how it drips with self-satisfied smugness.

I liked episodes 1,2,3, and 5. But erm how did the alien not get instantly killed the moment it encountered a several body security force, the rifles they were using LOOKED and SOUNDED like a typical pulse rifle that would easily swiss cheese an alien in the Aliens film. And if they weren't supposed to kill it why did they bring those rifles. The laser gun that Morrow used on the ship easily incapacitated the alien and it looked like that is what the Prodigy force had at least on the boat because Nibs get shot with it. That alien should've been captured/killed immediately.

The fact that Prodigy which is supposed to be one of the "Big Three" companies that basically runs the fucking planet got so easily outmaneuvered by one drone, a baby alien, and a couple synths is kind of retarded.

Okay well I guess one of the synths did randomly develop an almost god-mode level power from seemingly out of nowhere

DOES THE ACTRESS JUST HATE DOING ACTIONS SCENES OR SOMETHING?
>>
>>214830802
Its not that bad. But quite forgettable sadly. Except the alien eyeball the rest of the creatures were not too "alien". It missed what alien is all about by focussing too much on the robots instead of the aliens and their alien ways.
Youre right about the contrarian thing tho.

Alien: Earth is the worst written tv-show ever made by far, I challenge anyone to find a worse one. Every scene is more baffling than the last and makes one go "what?" and "why?" because nobody acts like a real person.
It takes suspension of disbelief to the absolute breaking point and then breaks it.

>>214830802
The show started out pretty well, introducing a lot of new and interesting concepts like human-machine hybrids and new alien species instead of just the same old tired xenomorph. The show fell off a cliff towards the end though, it's just painfull to watch dumb writers try to write boy geniuses and what are supposed to be highly intuitive but naive children trapped in synthetic grownup bodies. It was like they just gave up and turned it into the same generic monster movie slop you've seen a thousand times already instead of exploring the things they set up throughout.

I actually liked the show but the ending was a dud. It had really fantastic sets and cinematography for a tv show and I thought the hybrids were interesting. However Boy Genius was defeated to easily and Wendy was able to convince the rest of the kids to turn on him too fast. It all felt very rushed. Worse is I didn't even get to see Boy Genius and the rest of them get ripped apart by the Aliens. I don't know if a second season is planned but I'm not sure where they take it from here.

I watched the first episode, but I wasn’t motivated to continue because I’m used to the stereotypical social engineering in American TV. When I saw the portrayal of white men as boomers and villains, non-white men as young and good, white and non-white women with nom-white men and the race of white men excluded, promoted as uncool old people, villain, and all the young people and androids being white women inserted in the same group of non-white men and non-white women with the race of white men excluded, I felt it was pushing a certain agenda like in the last Alien movie.

White women, non-white women and non-white men, excluding white men, like its used to insert white women into some oppressed group to try to say, hey white woken the race of white men is bad and you is inserted as part of other racial group of people and could get race card and privileges like them and feel as part of mainstream racial social engineering constructed around white women above women of other races but having non-white women as friend, white men as enemy and negative race of men and non-white men as young people and inserted with white women as a way of isolate race of white men in race baiting racial social engineering strategy made in USA and exported for the rest of the world for years

While white men characters (race) were cast as enemies, negative, trash, boomer, idiot, stupid, garbage sexually inoffensive for men of other races watch and feel inserted as young and people and the race of men born white as excluded people and geriatric boomer or idiot trash.

White women were positioned as part of the same group as non-white men and non-white women and white men race was excluded or isolated as the enemy and trash also isolated in racial social engineering made by democrats party in USA who exported for all the world who copied this racial social engineering stereotypes of American industry undermining men born white, shit white men race keep white women race
