These old shows are kino, or is this just a phase?
Kino is forever kino. It doesn't matter if its the first time a newer generation is experiencing it
after a certain point you'll begin to realize how trash modern dialogue is
>>214831908The last time that anyone wanted to be an American.
>>214831908Some of them are very kino but they are a lot slower paced and so the zoom zoom brain will probably find them boring
>>214831908Yeah, Gunsmoke is great. Some great acting and storytelling, pic related. I feel too many anons dismiss these older shows because they figure they'll be corny when most of them have better writing, acting and directing than 99% of the trash that Hollywood cranks out now.
i love gunsmoke and old episodes of twilight zone. something about black and white. it seems to tell MORE of a story than color does imo.
>>214834536Factual, nostalgia for a day that you are far removed from.
>>214834619i just feel like with the absence of color, you pay more attention to >shot composition >dialogue >acting prowess >music/score (or lack thereof)black and white tv is like mono-mixes from old albums. sure, they did a stereo mix, but they usually SUCKED ASS
I enjoy Gunsmoke more than Deadwood. If I could have the ultra violence of Deadwood in a show like Gunsmoke it would be my favorite show of all time. My favorite episode is where some vigilantes hung some bullies and copped a long winded angry rant from Dillion because he didn't have enough evidence to prosecute any of them.
for me, it's Have Gun – Will Travel
