I dont know man. There's lots of subconsious programming and suggestion in movies if you view them as a kid. You'd hope a fairy tale teaches a morale lesson but over time with stuff like disney, they've corrupted the lessons for political reasons. And then that actually just keeps going as an adult unless you learn to see it. Its good to have your defenses up but there are still many enjoyable movies. Interesting scripts and plots are the most important to me, but a lot of these artsy fartsy types will appreciate the the cinematography and artwork of filming a scene - the camera angles, lighting, all that. And they'll overlook a mediocre plot.

While there's been a few movies like blade runner or the matrix that have been good, nothing has really been as thought provoking as books, and theres been videogames that hit me emotionally way harder than any movie.
