Critics hated it and audiences didn't show up for it, but my god, it's kino. Brad Pitt's best performance and despite its length its very rewatchable. Best film the of the 2020's so far.

I went back and rewatched it not long ago and ironically now that im in my 30s i found the early parts of the film really upsetting, with its portrayal of a family falling apart amid rural poverty and trying to care for a sick, possibly autistic, child who isn't getting better, and the peril the kid is put in by quack doctors. Funny how perceptions change over time. That didnt bother me at all as a kid.
