My favorite version of the character is the one from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Pulp garbage like this series needs to be treated that way.

George Lazenby was dull and blunt as in the book. It didn't work. In fact, if 007 wasn't starred by Sean Connery then it would have never become a proper franchise.
