>>214850286the first book and movie is clearly a fairy tale for children yes, but the later movies and books are clearly made for adult audience with very deep message about magic hitler and his squad of magical kkk members so the "it's for kids" argument doesn't work for the whole franchise
>>214850194>you can set people on firesummon water>force them to explodesew pieces together and resurrect >send swarms of flesh-eating insectsuse fire>conjure lacerations over their bodiesjust resurrectKill spell unguardable and unresurrectable.
>>214850546What does the spell do anyways? From what I gather, seems like its meant to remove souls from bodies (would explain why it didnt kill harry and only removed the horcrux from him
>>214850194>but the one spell that kills person instantly without suffering is BANNED, that's TOO MUCH BROIt also traps the soul of the victim inside the caster's wand. This is why it's forbidden. It's also why Harry's parents appear to him when he's dueling Voldy for the first time in HP 4.

>>214851213potterjeet poster- what is your endgame
It doesn't make any sense. If someone is charging you with a knife: are you going to grab a branch or a gun?You would obviously choose the most powerful item that'd guarantee your safety and the defeat of evil. This franchise(and the books) are very terrible. You'll see stuff like this A LOT: interesting idea, but completely wasted by non-human writers. This franchise isn't good, only the idea is.(going to a school that's fun and about magic and creatures and mysteries, etc.)
>>214850194It has no counter-curse meaning you can kill wizard cops with it like hollow points.
>>214851449how do you invent a spell on this universe tho?
>>214850601When Moody/Barty demonstrates it in book 4, Harry hears something like a wind rushing as the spell is cast. Makes me think it summons death or sucks out the life of the victim.
>>214850601Not-AbraKadabra is a curse. Worse, it's the killing curse. Worse, there's only been one survivor and no one knows how he survived. Worse, the wizarding world follows a version of Judeo-Christian morality, which is why goblins have rights and elves are slaves, and a 'sin' is equal whether it is Thought, Word or Deed>He who hath committed murder in his heart hath murdered the whole worldTo use CabraKomanda is to understand why that is, and make the wilful choice to do it: it's a sin committed against the self, and the victim, and the whole world, and the Creator. Harry didn't survive the second time; Dumbledore had found the resurrection stone from the tale of the Deathly Hallows, which he figured must exist because he had the elder wand and cloak. He calmly hid it in a golden snitch, knowing Harry had an advantage over anyone else in catching it again if it needed to be sent off. The stone allowed Harry to talk to the dead, but having it on his person gave him the choice to return to life after getting killed, without Riddle's parasite.
>>214850286I would understand if this was Bluey or Paw Patrol but anon Harry Potter has been out for at least 27 years.
>>214850194that's the point of Unforgivable Curses and Dark Magic in general; these spells are solely intended to be used to harm others by either compelling them against their will, causing them pain or killing them; they don't have nay other uses, all the the other spells that OP mention before he talks about Avada Kedavra can be used for other purposes than hurting others, some of these purposes being quite socially useful. The only exception was the spell intended to slash people, Snape created it explicitly and solely to hurt his enemies but virtually nobody other than him knew about it and if the Ministry of Magic heard about such a spell, they would almost certainly ban it
