Why?
>>
I've seen s1-s11
>>
>>214858134
Why'd you stop?
>>
>>214858094
I was heavily into the Simpsons in around 1999-2001 when I was like 12-14. I watched reruns of it endlessly on Fox and had a bunch of VHS/DVD sets. I generally didn't care for seasons 1-2 but loved the rest of the series by that point.

I recall the last time I sat down and watched the latest episode was around "Trilogy of Error" which is a 2001 episode.

I still pretty much know all of seasons 3-11 by heart but don't know anything after that.
>>
No but I might get around to it when I’m an old fart in my deathbed thinking, “I should finish watching the rest of The Simpsons just before I die.”

Maybe.

I’ll probably die tonight though so whatever
>>
>>214858094
Yes, because I have no reason to abandon it.
>>

>because I have no reason to abandon it.
How about it hasn't been funny in 25 years?
>>
>>214858094
Only season 1 to 7
>>
>>214858094
I'm currently watching it. On season 7 will don't if ill stop at 8 or 10.
>>
>>214858094
Will this show ever die. Holy Lord!
>>
season 6 might be the peak. We had on some episode where bart is asking for food and marge is asleep and says
>there's a stuffed pepper in the trash can it's probably still fine
my wife and I must have laughed for 5 minutes
>>
>>214858159
it turns to shit quick
>>
>>214858094
My opinion its that by season 8 it starts to bevome a caricature of itself but gradually, its starts becoming more funny and wacky, season 1 to 7 you can find messages to life then it becomes less and less and it starts becoming like a caricature of templates and then i starts becoming family guy templates that when it fucking sucks is just like a step by step what it has to be
>>
I don't even like a good part of season 7-10. If theres a specific point its that horrible "le grille" scene that's just every bad part of the humor of the show
>>
>>214861720
That last part where he attacks it and the umbrella opens and Bart goes "yeah, he's done" was hilarious.

I only rewatch seasons 1-9
>>
Because I can. But I also watch Futurama/Disenchatment and read the comics for all three series.

>>214859297
Nta but the tree house of horror episodes are usually good.
>>
>>214858094
No. I never bought any DVDs but I pretty religiously watched the new episodes every Sunday? night. The last episode I ever watched in its entirety of my own choice was the reality tv show one in the victorian house that got washed away by the river. I can't hardly remember anything about the episode beyond that ending sequence I think but I completely lost interest after that. I may have watched the movie at some point but I don't really remember it so it may have just been a part in passing at a friend's place.
>>
>>214858094
>Watch new episodes
>Jokes are just describing the situation
>Marges voice is painful to listen to
I can't remember anything else to talk about really
>>
>>214858094
a few years ago I tried to watch every single episode, I made it to the middle of like 28 or 29 before I just sorta gave up out of complete and utter boredom, like it gets to the point where there's maybe 1 or 2 decent-ish episodes a season, if that.

Golden Age Simpsons is seasons 3-6, and arguably 7.

>Marges voice is painful to listen to
Mr Burns isn't even recognizable anymore

Who the fuck is chrome ball bald in their 30s? In the '80s' pic you can see he was supposed to have his power donut but they reduced it to nothing

First time I encountered the Simpsons was exchanging files at a LAN party at school in the late 90s. At home I had 56K dial up, so couldn't download anything substantial from the internet. Anyway, besides movie rips, games, and mp3 files, we also exchanged random mpeg movie clips. Pic related was one of them. Didn't know what it was, but thought it was kinda funny.
Fast forward a couple of years and I go to university. I share an apartment with a roommate and we manage to steal cable TV from the neighbors. As a kid I only had 2 channels, so now I get to watch a lot of tv shows for the first time. Note that nobody bothered with tv shows in the early years of piracy, at least where I lived.
So me and my roommate start to watch Simpsons as new episodes are airing. This is around 2002.
We finally invest in a DSL connection and start downloading. We quickly get our hands on all the old Simpsons episodes and it's clear that they're much better than the newer ones.
Anyway, regardless, for years I watched new episodes as they came out. It was getting shittier and shittier. For a long time I watched it mostly out of habit. Eventually they aired the episode with lady gaga, which was the last straw. That's the last episode I ever watched, but in hindsight it was total bullshit for years before that.
Thanks for reading my blog.

damn lisa is cracking up too. must fucking hurt to try to speak in the same kid-pitch voice you could pull off when you were 20.
>burns
that's like... a different voice actor

What was your first exposure to XFM and the Ricky Gervais Show?
>>

>What was your first exposure to XFM and the Ricky Gervais Show?
I don't know what XFM is and never watched the Ricky Gervais Show.
>>
I stopped when the series ended and Groening made Futurama. Couldn't even finish first episode.
>>
Once it hit the screamapillar era even kid me couldn't stomach it anymore.
>>
>>214858094
god no but I've rewatched seasons 1-9 a bunch of times
>>
I've got all the DVD box sets up to S18. If I'd known S19 was going to be the last one they released I'd have bought it but the few seasons before that had low replayability so I got out

I recently watched S32 and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I'd watch more seasons as an academic exercise if I had access to them.
>>
I still love the old seasons of The Simpsons. In my country, season 1 is ultra rare because after season 1 a different channel bought the rights and dubbed The Simpsons. Seasons 2 - maybe 25 have been re-run many times, but the original channel that bought season 1 never showed re-runs.
>>
>>214858094
What's strange to me in the new episodes is that Homer tells jokes.
>>
>>214858094
The only new Simpsons episodes I've seen is the music crossover ones, the Sigur Ros one, the Weezer one, the Morrissey one
