Would you a Book of the New Sun miniseries?
>>214867419I haven't gotten to reading the book yet. I just found out about this last month, and I will buy it first chance I get. Is it really that good?
>>214867746It’s a great read, Gene Wolfe is very poetic and probably one of the best fantasy/sci-fi writers. That being said, the story and setting can be very confusing and especially at the beginning so don’t get discouraged when you feel lost.
>>214867746one of the most epic scales I have ever encountered put to fiction, but the fact that it all behaves in an allegorical, subtle, behind the scenes way is the most profound part. Perhaps the most fun book to read about AFTER reading it.
Thanks. I will def. get it, can't wait desu.
>>214867419Lost interest when he got expelled. Slog almost as bad as Malazan.
>>214867419I would prefer a film over a miniseries, bigger budget and better production value. The bigger question is, what director can take such a task?
>>214868055>he dropped it before the story actually begancmon anon, pick it back up. The Botanic Gardens is the true filter
>>214867746Gigachad gets exiled and fucks every hot woman he meets, becomes emperor of the world and is so awesome a bunch of ayys save earth from destruction just because they like him.
>>214867746He's got a wild writing style, it always feels surreal to read, it's sorta hard to work out what the fuck is going on most of the time but if you can get past that it's very enjoyable.
No, I don’t want another obscure fantasy series raped to death by hollywood queers and you should feel ashamed for suggesting it
>>214867419my favorite thing about this series is just how much of a piece of shit Severian can be. Even when he’s being the “hero” we’re just supposed to take his word for it because it’s his story.
>>214868256>Gigachad gets exiled and fucks every hot woman he meetsI love Conan btw, I have many of his original black and white comics.
>>214868790There are many people who dislike the "unreliable narrator" writing style. Not me tho, I enjoy 40k novels in the first person narrative style. "Broken Crusade" was amazing to me.
