Memes aside, why didn't Gandalf let the fellowship use his wagon? The one he drove to the shire in the first act of the story. Maybe they could have used it to carry all their equipment and food and stuff.
>>214867785Idk
>>214867785He left the keys in Gondor
>>214867785Can't use a wagon to go thru deep dark forest or inside the Moria mines
>>214867785One of the first things they're told is to stay off the roads.
>>214867785The wagon would be tempted by the ring
>>214869591they should have had pippin drive it along as a decoy
>>214867785>slow>loud>hard to hide>have to stay on roads
>>214867785They would have to stay on or near paths
>>214867785He could no longer afford the wagon tax, having shouldered the responsibility of paying for the entire fellowship's laundry expenses.
Why didn't they get the eagles to carry the wagon?
>>214870642Wagons are mom-mobiles. The eagles had too much pride and ego to be seen as soccer moms.
>>214870252So?
>>214869960This is the real answer. If anyone read the Silmarillion they would know that the wagon was once known as the Bane of Shadowfax.
>>214870692thats where the bad guys spawn
>>214870692the Nazguls had set up customs checkpoints at all the major entrances to the Shire and were searching all mercantile vehicles for contraband, it says so in Appendix C
>>214867785this question is more retarded than asking about the eagles
>>214870757>NazgulYou mean the ones Aragon solo'd? Just carry torches with you lol
If the ring can only influence those who know of it, then why didnt Gandalf just seal it in some kind of envelope and keep it hidden from everybody so they wouldnt get corrupted on their way to Mt. Doom? Was he stupid?
AND MY WAGON
>>214870854>If the ring can only influence those who know of it>If
>>214870918Yes, think about it. The ring never influences anybody who doesnt know of it. The humans of Bree dont start fighting to give the Nazgul a chance to catch up, it doesnt call for the Orcs in Moria or in Shelobs cave, cant call upon the Nazgul flying over the marches, Faramirs men dont get corrupted by it, and probably other examples. The ring only affects those who are aware of its presence.
>>214867785Wagon Guild was neutral.
>>214871043The ring sometimes wants to hide and sometimes seems to want to be found. I don't know either how exactly that works but it's magic
>>214867785they wandered over mountains and shit, pretty sure a wagon wouldn't be that useful
>>214872052They would have never found out. Only Sauron had GPS at the time.
>>214867785The ring can corrupt vehicles and technology like in that Stephen King movie.
>>214867785Wagons are big
>>214867785Why did Gandalf bring a massive dragon shaped firework to Shire which could attack and harm them?
>>214874192Because he wasn't a pussy
>>214873884for you
>>214874216>puts it at an easily accessible location at the party>doesn't even monitor itChad
>>214874192why did he use the draon shaped fireworks to impress some inbred hobbits and not to defeat the nazgul? those guys jobbed to a fucking torch
>>214870854Because Gandalf didn't trust himself with the Ring, he refuses to even touch the thing.
>>214874325Maybe that was his plan, but Merry and Pippin fucked it up
>>214871043>The humans of Bree dont start fighting to give the Nazgul a chance to catch up, it doesnt call for the Orcs in Moria or in Shelobs cave, cant call upon the Nazgul flying over the marches, Faramirs men dont get corrupted by it, and probably other examples.Maybe it just did not have enough time to corrupt the randos. Proximity appears to be important after all.
