>>214873438I really like Columbo. I like the one where Columbo gets the guy because he hides his gloved hands in his pockets.
>>214874344Oh man the reveal on that one is so great, the guys raving and screaming “COLUMBO DID IT! HE FRAMED ME JUST NOW!!” And he just slowly pulls his hand out of his pocket, the guy is immediately deflated. Far and away the best reveal for the gotcha that takes em away
>>214874439The one where the photographer incriminates himself by picking out a specific camera is pretty great too. I think its the one with Dick Van Dyke.
>>214874344>>214874439ye its cool cause then you rewatch the final scene to realize columbo kept his hands in his pockets the whole time
>>214874635https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnQIOm2KimAColumbo really was a fantastic ragebaiter
I am not a fan of 80-90s episodes overall but some of them i enjoy and it is very enjoyable to see him being even more cunning and showing his experience here.>Episode about the genius cinematographer killing his old friend over the film with their female friend dying>Columbo barges into studio room>Murderer tries to bullshit him around>Columbo is toying with him and is almost leaving>Coming back and immediately connect Murderer and victim through two glasses of milkshake they drunk together night before>Finally leaving>Murderer breaks the glasses in frustration>Columbo is coming back to troll him one final timeThat shit was fucking good.
>>214875102The one with Rip Torn I think might be the funniest Columbo episode.Rip is acting like h'es on the set of Freddy got Fingered
>>214875102I remember liking the episode with the two magicians/psychics that were in prison together and then one kills the other with a guillotine.
Page 10>Oh just one more thing /tv/My nephew, biiig /tv/ poster himself. He told me that Columbo is loved by this place. But then why is this Columbo thread on page 10? It's just these small loose ends, they bug me you know.
>>214873438when is Peugeot going to release a new version of this beast
I tried watching Columbo but he just pisses me off I know that's part of his gimmick and I might try again later but still
>>214876670The best episodes tend to have the best guest villains.I like to enjoy it through the lens of watching said villains be tortured and broken down by the big CBut theres also a couple of great sympathetic villains and the relationship that forms between them and Columbo can just be very compelling.I ask you try again. You may just need more time to get used to the 70s tv style and pacing.
>>214876537they released another one but its nothing special, just for transportation
Sure I'll stick my head into this guillotine because I reversed the safety mechanism on it, and I expect you to turn the safety off to try and kill me, thereby incriminating you.If you don't try to turn off the safety however then you will effecitively decapitate me, this is jjust good detective work
Is this the thread
>>214877738
>>214876831Killers actually trying to hurt Columbo in the later seasons always felt tonally off to me, his strength is supposed to be in avoiding situations like that to begin with
>dances a confession out of you
>When that episode comes on
>>214879703Joanna Going. What a beauty! It took me years to realize she was the unknown one on the right of this famous pic.
I like the running gag that he's constantly hungry and on the prowl for free food. I think there's an episode where Columbo steals some bread rolls from nuns running a soup kitchen.
>>214880128I've noticed the opposite. Columbo often is offered food or a drink and he doesn't touch them or just samples them.Like in the military academy episode it pisses me off he never eats the free lunch and just leaves.
>>214880417he gets bribed a lot by people and plays into it but mostly he tries to scam and steal for it and thats why it's great
Reminder he would have caught KillaIn 90 episodes we never find out his first nameHe just keeps it secret just in case there is a Death Note somewhere
>>214880128>>214880417>>214880459Whether he accepts food and drink is generally dependent on whatever mindgames hes playing at that moment but I think overall he is a hungry little gremlin man
>>214880819Maybe his wife's cooking is not the best
>>214880859he is a master chef himself but on a case he gets no time
I really like the episode with the diplomat from the middle east fake country. Just looked it up, season 5 episode 2 >A Case of Immunityalso of course the wine one 'Any Old Port in a Storm' but everyone says that episode. It is kino though. The one with the celebrity chef guy with the TV show and I think the dude who played Frank Petangeli from the Godfather was in it, was especially based too.
>>214880819Columbo joined the force after announcing "Your food or your life!" to a police officer who would later recruit him for his can-do attitude.
>>214880900In Murder Under Glass he got to cook. Veal scallopini I believe
>>214881671is that the one with the weird fucking corkscrew thing? never seen anything like that in my life
>>214881155That’s Murder Under Glass. The guy who plays his nephew Mario is quite possibly the worst actor I have ever seen. Next time you watch it, watch that actor in the background, he’s absolutely lost and making the most inappropriate facial expressions like smiling at his uncles funeral.
>>214881691Oh yeah it’s a CO2 cartridge like what they use in air rifles. It hasn’t been common in wine openers for a while, especially since when you’re opening a bottle of wine you want oxygen to get to it as soon as possible, CO2 keeps the wine from “opening up”.
>>214881691That episode also had a couple minor but notable guest stars including France Nguyen and Mako. France was in a handful of small things in the 70s and 80s and Mako I at least remember from an episode of MASH as a Chinese or North Korean doctor in a patient exchange episode. They were scraping the D-list barrel except for the guy who played Frank Pantangele. I forget the name of the guy who played the murdered but he did a good job, also Shera Denise playing the murderers girlfriend is worth noting. God bless Peter Falk, he should not have let his wife have so much screen time, she is terrible.
>>214881910mako? the wizard? i need to rewatch this shit again.
Just in case this thread dies, check out the columbophile blog if you’d like to see breakdowns of every episode and tons of obscure facts. If you enjoy columbo it’s worth a few minutes. He ranks and discusses every episode and highlights quite a few things about the entire series.
>>214881969Yep that’s him. He plays a Japanese national (I assume chef or something along those lines) visiting the murderer and his arrival has quite a bit to do with exposing the murderer, although unintentionally.
>>214879703The most insanely bad episode of the lot, lolAt least Last Salute to the Commodore is funny bad with Falk annoyingly invading everyone's personal space like he just smoked a bong.
>>214873451which culp ep is that
>>214881998That and one other episode were based off Philip Marlowe novels I believe, the tone is way off. It’s engaging because Columbo is personally invested since it’s family, but the scene with the lipstick is horribly stupid and the “villain” is just a bag of late 80s/early 90s cliches.I watched last salute today and Robert Vaughn tries his best to save it but the gotcha is so bad it hurts. To note, Columbos young assistant/coworker also had a bit part in MASH as colonel potters son in law. Lots of cross pollination between the two shows, strangely enough.
>>214882085Double Exposure
>>214873438Columbo? More like GODlumbo
THE MARINO BROTHERS!?!?!
HAAAAWMACIDE???
I’m disappointed this thread will die, I love this show and was excited to discuss it.
>>214873438>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=balYPw8ARdsProbably my favorite scene in all of Columbo. The buildup to "I knew you could do it" is fantastic.
>>214873438>One more thing>Right here, I have this here Columbo thread>Now, it's a popular thread. /tv/ enjoy it and it's some good kino>What bugs me is why you Anon haven't posted into the thread. Because if you're such a fan of kino, then this thread shouldn't be about to die
>even the fan episodes are kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V3-ZXoPA0g
>>214886197I hate AI but I would love to hear this in their voices
I forgot which episode, but I like it when the perp asked when Columbo figured it out and it turned out he got it right away at the start
>>214886197Holy fuck this is great
>>214886197I love Columbo so much lads, extended animated universe when?
>>214873438i finally finished the original run yesterday. crazy that out of 7 seasons there were only two bad episodes total.
>>214874344one of the best murderer breakdowns of the entire series
