Was it kino?
>>
no
>>
>>214903506
Why would people do this?
>>
>>214903574
Hunger games lottery money
Apparently there was a civil war and now major Skywalker runs the country and he gives people money for walking
>>
>>214903506
Why did they cast some fat white dude as the main character in a movie about walking 300 miles?
>>
>>214903506
Lets make a movie about how Zoomers cant walk very far and are weak. lol ok.
>>
>>214903615
Hes a nepobaby
>>
>>214903506
So stephen king thought about Americans' deepest darkest fear and it was walking
>>
>>214903629
They are mentally preparing Zoomer males for the next major war. Expect some Saving Private Ryan tier propagnda coming out soon.
>>
>>214903506
no and i refuse to go see a movie that has been pushed by "influencers"
if they want me to see it, they can pay me too, until then i wont
>>
It was mid.

Things they could have done to tell the story better:

1. 6 part mini-series so you actually feel the exhaustion of the walk.

2. Or found footage movie where they have cameras attached to their chests to give a better sense of being stuck in the situation. The movie is very floaty and skips a lot of time, and as a result we're not immersed into the nightmare they're facing as much.

Those are the two main ones.
>>
Ending was stupid and way better than the book
>I just killed all your friends. What one wish would you like granted?
>Give me that gun right now
>Ok
>*Gets shot*
>>
>>214903506
Isn't one of the first sentences in this book about how pussies look
>>
>>214903574
The movie doesn’t even bother with worldbuilding so it’s a mystery
If it was compulsory it’d make more sense but then retards would call it a Hunger Games ripoff even though the book was written first
>>
>>214905355
>*In the book
>>
>>214903506
Yes but /tvpol/ won't talkabout it except to cry about black people.
>>
>>214903574
I imagine that at least 50 out of 200 million people would sign up for something like this, but the movie explains that basically everybody wants to get a spot in it for some reason.
>>
>>214903839
it's been ramping up since oct 7 and the 12 day war. these projects have a significant lead time.

It was ok, but changing the ending was retarded.

Why does the fat guy look like he's cold but there are two other guys in tank tops?
>>
They musta been pissed when they saw the trailer to 28 years later
>>
>>214903615
>Why did they cast some fat white dude as the main character in a movie about walking 300 miles?
Same reason they cast an ugly 32-year-old nog to play a 16-year-old white character.
>>
>>214906215
Because he was sick.

>so you actually feel the exhaustion of the walk.
My biggest gripe about this is that even after 300+ miles the characters never look that tired or beat up. The skinny little chink with the Bugs Bunny accent gets it right but only a minute or so before he dies. By the second day EVERYONE should have looked like a shambling zombie ESPECIALLY the major's kid with pneumonia.

American moment.

it's an obvious war metaphor. pointless and miserable death for no reason.

Kikes.

When you use the same word to describe literally everyone, it very quickly loses its sting. "Kike" now carries the same emptiness of meaning of other incel favorites like "degenerate". I imagine as you read this you're burning with the urge to call me a kike.

The /pol/fag is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a redditor, newfag, incel, schizoid, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call him a /pol/fag and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: "I’ve been found out".

This. Media literacy used to mean adopting a critical stance toward media. Now, "media literacy" is something retards like that guy bring up when you're critical of the ideological orthodoxy as represented in a given piece of media.

Complete headcanon.
>>
>>214912632
You got it all wrong. What I meant was that they purposely put the phrase "make America number one again" on the character Major's mouth, which is absurdly similar to the MAGA quote. I find it hard to believe it's just a huge coincidence, coming from Mark Hamil as the actor and also Stephen King as the executive producer.
>>
>>214906159
You niggers have been saying this shit for decades and nothing ever happens
>>

And "make America great again" wasn't created by Trump it was being used as a political slogan like a century earlier, what's your point?

two more weeks
>>
Genuinely a very depressing movie. The scenes with the main characters' mother made me especially sad. I can't imagine doing that to the person who loves you more than anything in the world. I really love my mother. This fucking movie bummed me out hard. Also Mark hammed it up a bit much, his character got cartoony.

why no girls walking?

>>
>>214915183
Because girls weren't drafted and the book is about the vietnam war, stupid.
>>
>>214903595
>Americans needed a civil war to finally get out and walk instead of driving everywhere
>>
>>214906098
That made no sense to me with the way the world was presented. None of these kids looked like they were emaciated or starving at the beginning of the walk. None of them looked like they have nothing left to lose, nothing else to live for. If you can live most of your life having a decent enough diet, living in a normal house (like what's shown in the main character's flashback), there's no way "almost everyone" in the country would volunteer for a 49 out of 50 chance of getting shot in the fucking head.
>>
>>214913340
You're really not as smart as you think you are
>>
>>214916730

Your shoes would fall apart, your muscles would seize and you'd have blisters up the ass. Not to mention being exposed to the elements like being in the Sun all day would do a number on your skin.

Is this supposed to be set in the same world as The Running Man? Maybe people got tired of watching kids walk and wanted to watch a man run.

It's too bad I'm not smart enough to be a hypersensitive little faggot like you. If only I could see every veiled insult against Drumpf for what they are!
>>
>>214912632
IDK I read the book and America comes across as prosperous and borderline idyllic in it. They have big patriotic celebrations and high school marching bands out for the Walk, people are along the road having picnics and stuff like that. No one seems miserable and downtrodden besides the retards who signed up to get shot in the head.
>>
>>214916841

Asked Grok, most likely 24-48h walk is somewhat possible for very fit individuals. But 5 days like in the movie, no way. Also sleepwalking for extended periods like shown in the movie at a constant high pace is impossible.
That element kinda ruins the scenario.
