god damn WHY.
was the dino cgi good? yeah surprisingly. the rest of it was trash though, the director could not stop cutting back and forth between cgi dinos and people who look like they're on a different set. it looked like a youtuber edited a jurassic park movie and removed all the actors and inserted themselves and their friends into it.
do yourself a favour and use your time to watch two other movies instead.

I was thinking about TTCM, I've only seen 1 and 2. I really liked the 2nd one, how do you feel about III and Next Generation ?
Otherwise, I'll take any recs, it can even be a recent slasher if you got any in mind that you've found decent

I don't think most people like TCM past 2 except for the first remake, and even 2 has a lot of detractors. 3 is pretty forgettable, 4 is like 2 turned up to 11, and everything past the remake most people hate. Trailer for Night Shift is out. Acting seems mostly terrible and it looks pretty cheap, but maybe it'll be a fun slasher. Bad acting and low budgets didn't stop a bunch of 80s slashers from being enjoyable.

Yes, and one thing a lot of modern movies get wrong is that in the 70s/80s, they weren't trying to make bad movies on purpose. Sometimes they just turned out bad. A lot of times these modern "throwback" movies that are intentionally shitty are just shitty and nothing else.

Watched the Roger Corman Poe Cycle + two bonus Corman Horror movies.

>House of Usher (1960) – this is the closest adaptation. Feels authenticly "Poe." My favorite of the serious films

>The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) – meh

>The Premature Burial (1962) – No Price :( turns into a slasher movie at the end

>Tales of Terror (1962) – The Cask of Amontillado segment is the best of this silly anthology

>The Raven (1963) – This comedy film is the best. Price, Karloff, Lorre and Jack Nicholson. Ends in a wizard battle

>The Haunted Palace (1963) – Not Poe, but fun to see Price and Lon Chaney Jr. In a Lovecraft adaptation of Charles Dexter Ward.

>The Masque of the Red Death (1964) – the biggest production by far. The most sets, extras, costumes etc.Pads out the film by adding Hop Frog as a subplot

>The Tomb of Ligeia (1964) – Almost great. Suffers from padding. I really with they'd stop tossing that cat around everywhere during the third act

>The Terror - No Price :(

>The Oblong Box - Made by Corman's production company. Kinda lame

The original monster design is cool but I also like what they went with in the movie. She has this classic Halloween decoration look to her, just this disembodied cloak gliding through the air. The story and characters are silly but as a mindless monster movie it's a great romp, the kino villain design makes it a great October viewing.

I wish she had just stuck with acting, I thought she was really cute and she actually gave a pretty good performance in those films.

Makes you wonder why they even include tits if they're not going to go full throttle with topless stuff.

4 and 5 are fine, but I love the theatrical cut of 6 even though it's generally unpopular. There's a lot of violence and Michael is menacing.

I have a list of some possible movies but I usually like to play it by ear when it comes to order and last minute additions. The last couple of years I've been able to average 2 a day, we'll see how this year goes.

H3 is the best. Every Michael film is worse than the last, for each timeline.
>H1 > 2 > 4 > 5 > 6
>H1 > 7 > 8
>H1 > 11 > 12 > 13
The Zombie films break the combo, where the unrated 2 is better than 1.

I've finally seen Clown in a Cornfield and I realized I need a 5 feet brunette wife.
As for the movie, it was watchable. Nothing ground breaking but dumb fun in the second part.

This movie really needed to lose about 20-30 minutes and then maybe would have been worth watching.
The viewer does not need to see so much nothing and the scene with the guy and his son and wife a dozen times before it's revealed what it was all about.

I wish he directed more movies himself. All he did was Hellraiser, Nightbreed, and Lord of Illusions.

Nightbreed doing poorly at the box office really fucked his career, but that was the studio's fault

Predator is dead as a franchise. Prey killed it and nothing good is in it's future but increasingly capeshit plots and cgi.
Alien once again winning with Romulus on all fronts.

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is a good movie. Although I remember all the characters (except that one guy) being such mean spirited assholes that I didn't care in the slightest when they got killed.

It's alright. Interesting premise and a few really good gore scenes, but it definitely has that mid-2000s cheap indie film feel.
