Nope.
Hartman is #1, Murphy is #2.
Norm is way up there, but having watched every season except for the last few, the best era is probably late 2000s before Jim Downey left.
>>
SNL has never been funny
>>
>>214921508
Seems like the will ferrel days should get an honorable mention. It was still funny, sometimes even more so, but some of the skits were just terrible. Like the high and low points got more extreme

everyone views this era through rose tinted glasses. sure, there WERE some funny sketches. but go back and watch like 2 full episodes from this era. it's a SLOG to get through. so many unfunny sketches. so much le heckin randumb humor. sketches go on for SEVEN FUCKING MINUTES. to the point, where they started making jokes about how long all the sketches run on for with no purpose.

>>
>>214925017
Millennials view this era like boomers view the OG cast. For a lot of us, it was the last time SNL was relevant to us. The show was never that good in general, but in the mid-90's it really became a theater kid production.
>>
>>214925017
That is literally all sketch shows since monty python
>>
>>214925017
You're a fucking retard.

I have seen SNL episodes from this cast all the way through multiple, multiple times. They ran reruns of this era on Comedy Central constantly in the 90s.
It's clearly the best era, you're retarded.

Please just fucking stop.
Just because you think she's based doesn't mean she's suddenly funny or even hot.

If you're not white(easily impressed by a basic blond woman) and you happened to see her tenure on SNL back in the day, while you were like 12 years old(you were young an impressionable when you saw this basic blond woman), fine, then it's understandable, but if not this can unironically not be anything other than virtue signaling.
>>
>>214925488
It's surely an AI post, just look at the structure
>>
>>214925157
Those episodes were edited down to like 35-40 minutes you turd. Your reruns were missing 4-5 sketches and one or sometimes BOTH of the musical guests. YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT

>Retires from SNL.
>Gets a nosejob plus further bogging.
>Loses weight and her massive bunda in the process (it's still there, but it's a shadow of what it was).
>Fights tooth and nail to produce and star in a show where she creepily plays a male teenager and both actors and audience have to pretend she is an underage cis boy.
>No twist, no reveal, no nothing. She just wanted to dress and act like a weird schoolboy nerd that gets bullied around.
What the fuck did she mean by this?
Anyway, for me, peak SNL qtpie would be Gilda Radner, with Noël Wells a close second and Vanessa Bayer on third place.

You’re right, season before it (91-92) was better! Lol actually it’s basically the same cast only they had more women, 6 at the time which was considered crazy for those days, until the 2010s SNL usually only had 3 women at a time and only
one black guy before DEI WOKENESS!!!!!!! ruined everything!! Thanks a lot Sleepy Joe!
>>
>>214922733
The chick from happy endings was on snl?
>>
>>214923242
Dana Phil Nealon Miller Jan Hooks Lovitz etc all started in 86 they were the people that saved SNL when it was on the verge of cancellation. Then most of that late 80s cast stayed on in the early 90s so it was a mix of thek and the new cast members from early 90s like Sandler Farley and Spade
>>
>>214928642
She’s a reCHUDlican!!! I don’t watch comedy from fascist MAGAt nazis!!!!
>>

Late SNL to Parks and Rec, and Andy Richter's little sister/UCB to early SNL Amy poehler are like 2 completely different people.
>>
>>214922965
>no Dennis Miller
Brainlet opinion disregarded
>>
>>214921508
OP and this pic were my casts, I’m a boomernial so the old saying of the SNL from when you were like in like middle school (the Ferrell and Oteri cast for me, paired with the Farley/Sandler reruns on Comedy Central at the time which weren’t all that old of reruns then) will always be your favorite
>>
>>214929637
Yeah UCB and Andy’s sister Amy >>>>>>>>>> the more famous SNL and Parks and Rec / Tina & Amy verison of Poehler

Her sketch and character work on the UCB was so much funnier and smarter, it always felt like she had to dumb down her comedy for the normies on SNL
>>
>>214929689
Todd Packer and Steve Carell’s wife were great on SNL, dunno how they only lasted the one season. Dave Koechner being replaced by the super unfunny and annoying Chris Kattan the following season was especially a crime
>>
>>214929788
Poor Mark McKinney, after being brilliant on Kids in the Hall and then being reduced to SNL for a few years where they rarely have him anything funny to do, why would he even take that shitty SNL job?
>>
>>214929728
Bucket of Truth right here.
>>
>>214921508
Whatever to Julia Sweeney and Melanie Hutsell? The girls were pretty overshadows during the Sandler years where SNL was a show for the bros and the audiences didn’t want no women centered skits. Guessing Julia Sweeney probably banished from showbiz for Its Pat lol I thought Hutsel played Jan Brady in the Brady Bunch movies but it turns out that was a different chick just ripping off her SNL Jan Brady
>>
>>214929827
I liked him and Koechner as the two fancy lad gay dandys
>>
>>214922965
Rating Mike Myers above Dana Carvey is abominable. Not rating Phil Hartman at all is insane and just troll tier.
>>
>>214929955
Come on anon, look at the post, at the formatting
who the fuck would write tiers like that and post the years after, especially with no dashes

you're replying to AI nonsense
>"In my kino tier I put"
>"Tina Fey ninteen ninetynine two thousand six"
no one would write it like that
>>
>>214929728
Upright Citizens Brigade on Comedy Central doesn’t get enough credit for being the funniest sketch show of all time (yes even better than Mr. Show which the internet often says is the best. Hell I’d place both ucb and Kids in the Hall above Mr. Show, hell probably The State too. For me it’s more all the Mr. Show guys were all funnier on other shows so it seems like Mr. Show is funnier just based on the cast
>>
>>214929928
Lmao I forgot about these fucking characters, weren’t they originally written as the presidents of Norms fan club

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y21IXiqoBKs

And yea for me it was the era where Norm was the weekend update guy when I started watching as a middle schooler so that’ll always be my favorite period of the show
>>
>>214921508

Mike Myers was absent for the first half of that season (92-93 I believe, Dana’s final season year there) because he was filming So I Married an Axe Murderer.
>>
It's very hard to pick a best era, season or cast.

When it comes to specific people returning, as hosts or cameos and whatever, even people who were great earlier, usually aren't really able to pull it off when they come back decades later.
I feel like Bill Murray and Eddie Murphy are two very notable exceptions to this, like even in recent years having great bits and performances.
I love his tierlist from the 50th: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rXBddwSWCg
>>
No GE Smith led band, me no watch
>>
>>214930880
Goddamn they had the best band in the world for like 15 years at SNL

truly great
