>>214938039Keanu's cool factor is extremely hard-won, basically just surviving as long as he had, in a genre that hadn't seen better lead/placeholder outside of YA. For the longest time he was written off as a beautiful wooden face, after a promising start as preternaturally beautiful young man (no awareness of "twunk" at the time, just some small pockets of gays snickering at the Geffen rumors.) He kept getting top projects/costars even after his acting was dragged to hell.
He's a car salesman at best. Every interview or appearance he makes, it becomes dreadfully clear that whatever he says is simply for marketing. Fuck, he showed up on a cooking channel in a video basically labelled as "Glen's favourite meals" and it was a big infomercial for his family's sauce company. The guy has zero spine whatsoever and simply parrots what producers and PR people tell him to: ABY where he invited his entire family to do PR with Sweeney, but didn't mention to his gf that the producers wanted him to pretend cheat, to the point of telling her that the producers didn't think she should be there, and that it was "just work". Later, again in an interview, he said he has no issue hanging out with people, even Hollywood scumbags, as long as he doesn't get photographed with them. He's a weasel who wants to be liked by everyone, which is exactly he reason why he has no dramatic range. Sometimes that mask slips a little, like when people ask about the ABY sequel.
I don't mind Glen Powell. He is a perfectly bland White lead. Will go see that Running man movie in November.
