season 1 was great but it goes to shit in season 2 because they made the main character gay out of nowhere, felt like a genuine bait and switch by the writers. there's some fun moments and some of the characters are likeable but as the story goes on it just gets worse and worse and the gay thing is not just an incidental character trait, they may as well have renamed it crust sails. there are a lot of excellent brothel scenes with some very sexy whores but it's not enough to redeem all the shit parts of the show. probably the most damning thing about the show is that for a pirate kino there are almost no boat scenes which is an unrecoverable failure. overall the whole thing just felt like a total waste, there was a lot to like about it but the writers were hell bent on making sure you suffer instead.
