It is a blessed morning Gadonbro!

Our most beautiful Goddess Sarah Gadon has graced our Instagram feeds with a new video!

Also confirming that she has arrived in PORTUGAL! But is she on vacation or filming a new kino? What do we think Gadonbros?

She is so attractive
>>
>>214951501
>On April Fool's Day 1970, Duvall was hosting a party in Houston for her artist boyfriend, Bernard Sampson, when three crew members in town for Brewster McCloud (1970) pre-production arrived. Intrigued by Duvall's offbeat looks and hyper-enthusiasm, they invited her to pitch Bernard’s paintings the next day to "art patrons". In a surreptitious casting call led by Robert Altman, Bert Remsen, and Lou Adler, they asked her to be part of the feature instead.[14] Altman reflected on casting Shelley: "I was really quite mean to her, as I thought she was an actress. But she wasn’t kidding; that was her. She was an untrained, truthful person. She was very raw in Brewster but quite magic."

Boomers could get careers just by being quirky.
>>
>>214951545
>but quite magic
what do you think about actresses and actors, productions and theatrics being a spell of sorts to draw upon and weave into existence things that were not believed prior to its activity? for example, thinking that thing is attractive.

I thought the last threads died prematurely because /film/ wasn't written on the OP, but apparently it's just actually over.

This thread being so dead is very likely caused in part by knowledge that the /film/ name was at least temporarily abandoned because of autosaging.

It archived early... "nuked" implies it was deleted prematurely for some silly reason. Glad to see /film/ back on track though, I will watch this and get back with ya soon.

To piggyback...

Based on a novel by Mishima Yukio, The School of Flesh (1965) tells the story of a beautiful designer descended from nobility (Kishida Kyōko), who breaks away from an unhappy marriage after the war to greedily pursue a wild and pure love. Kinoshita Ryō directs this sophisticated tale of romantic intrigue in high style.

Following three glamorous 39-year-old single women in similar circumstances as they enthusiastically discuss each other's affairs and evaluate men, the novel refreshingly depicts the heroine's nobility against the backdrop of a subtle psychology of love and the shifting social classes of the era.

First serialized in the magazine Mademoiselle from January to December 1963, it was published as a single volume by Shueisha in February, 1964. Translations have been published in France and China, among other countries. Mishima's novel has also been adapted as L'école de la chair (1998), directed by Benoît Jacquot and starring Isabelle Huppert.

Ya know, I'm well aware that classic and arthouse cinema aren't the most popular fixations out there, but SURELY on a board that goes through the motions and has dozens of Star Wars or Marvel or LotR threads per day, there should be at least half a dozen people willing to talk about idk, fucking Hitchcock or whatever.

/hor/ always has a dozen fools willing to discuss The Attack of the Toilet Killer 5: The Repoopening and compare its intricacies to is prequels and sequels and do rankings and compare the designs of the killer, but you want to chitchat about a classic French drama and it's fucking crickets. Make it make sense, am I autistic? Is the rest of the board autistic? Both???

Anyway, anyone here likes Clouzout? I've been meaning to watch Diabolique....

>Anyway, anyone here likes Clouzout? I've been meaning to watch Diabolique....
sure, he's great
for some reason I cant understand, the FNW loved Hitchcock but hated Clouzot, but they are the same kind of filmmaker

Get into literature
>>
>>214954589
Yes, Clouzot is good. Les diaboliques is a great thriller with a few actually chilling moments for the era it was released in.
/film/ was always slow, and it's good that it's that way. High quality discussion > low quality shit.
>>
>>214955046
I'm somewhat well-read. /lit/ genuinely used to be great BACK IN THE DAY, but now it's been contaminated by dilettantes and dumbassed political ideologues. Occasionally you'll come across a worthwhile thread, but eh. 4chan in general has been in a state of continuous decay for a while.

>>214955179
I'm well-aware that /film/ moves at a leisurely pace. My point really is, people are always complaining about the state of modern cinema, but they act as if you're telling them to go fuck themselves when you suggest a classic film, and that always seemed extremely counterintuitive to me.
