i couldn't get into this movie because i kept thinking i would never let some faggot fucking music teacher treat me like that
>>
>>214955570
Yeah I too might fly off the handle and be like FUCK YOU BOOMER and then you get kicked out of the prestigious Hogwarts of music where professors are like gods. You just had to take it in the ass and play the politics if you wanted to attend.
Also are schools like this real? Like passionate, talented geniuses like this? I feel like no fucking way. This movie is fantasy. Doesn’t the philharmonic have DEI musicians and shit? I’m sure any academic institution like this would be a troon shitshow like any other university.

right. fletcher is such an unbelievable character that i constantly feel distracted/not immersed.

>"I'm too much of a fucking BADASS to get immersed into a film where a guy's getting yelled at and doesn't commit assault immediately"
I'm sure you guys also didn't join the military because "if a drill instructor got into my face like that I'd lay them out"
>>

I saw this once a million years ago and I thought it was kino idk if i would like it as much on rewatch. I can’t watch movies anymore unless I have a big meal in front of me that’s gonna take 50 minutes to eat like a big steak dinner. If I’m not at work I’m napping or playing Helldivers at this point I have such a big movie backlog and I guess Whiplash is on there but when am I gonna actually sit down and watch this, 8 years from now? Damn my bad /blog
>>
>>214955747
i'm nowhere near a badass but if a fucking teacher is smacking you and throwing chairs at you, a normal guy is not going to just take that.
>>
>>214955747
I didn’t join the military because I don’t want to be paid in welfare blood money to kill children overseas in the name of Israel.

When was the last time an actual, real genius like this existed? Not Oppenmemer or Memestein but like a real genius. Like, was it Galileo or DaVinci or some shit? Beethoven? Or maybe the team of guys who built the first space shuttles, idk. This kind of guy doesn’t exist anymore.
>>
>>214955681
>do these people exist?
Yes. But they don't last. Especially once that abuse gets physical. This isn't the 1970's anymore. Turns out people can/will report, sue, and press the fuck charges.

It's awesome that you're such a great flute player dude, but that doesn't give you the right to assault anyone. Especially when you can get run over by an illegal immigrant in the parking lot and no one will care that you thought would.

War is good sport and the money is pretty good when alls said and done. You’re a pussy hiding behind ideology. I didn’t give one single thought to any of that bullshit as my Mk 19 went BWOMP BWOMP BWOMP from atop my nigh unassailable MRAP.
>>
>>214955902
If you’re baiting whatever but if you’re not I would be creeped out to be in your presence. You’re in a cult of stolen valor standing on a mountain of corpses.
>I don’t care I like to kill people lol
Hooks back around to you’re a creepy inhuman zogbot going straight to Hell.

Why do boomers think being abusive makes you a good teacher? My gen x uncle is a chef and said all the older chefs were psychotic and would berate other chefs for no reason until they started crying. Those breeds are dying off and we have chefs who can control themselves, never raise their voice, and teach for better than screaming.

It is much harder to teach as a reasonable person. I will say being aggressive does have its benefits, but most people crumble under it. A lot of it is people just repeating what was done to them. It is the illusion that being yelled at made them good, and it is what they know how to teach
>>
>>214955747
Nobody’s saying that man. You’re obviously a lunatic if you put up with this teacher, as you could just leave at any time. Miles Teller, being a massive lunatic who puts up with this shit, is pretty unrelatable for most people. That doesn’t detract from the movie like OP thinks, because obviously this isn’t a movie about an average Joe going to school, but hes got a small point here.
>>
>>214956298
>most people crumble under it
This is very true. I was a trainer for 2 years. Keeping people from completely shutting down and becoming intimidated was the hardest part of the job. You had to coax them out like a scared house cat.
>>
>>214956430
The only thing you'd coax out of me is a knuckle sandwich.

>I never cared about anything more than a "meh" I was never passionate about anything in my life I never wanted to achieve or be anything so characters with those goals are foreign to me. If that was ME I'd just give up and not do anything! It's not important!
there. fixed it. you're literally 95 iq wet rags probably important consumers for GDP but ultimately worthless humans
>>
>>214956511
>being screamed at by a jackass is necessary to achieve mastery of something
Yea, nah. Guess what. No one dies if you hit a bad note. Take it down a notch. I'd sooner justify shit like this in law school, or med school. Even then, it's still a teaching environment except there's more on the line than someone's reputation.
>>
>>214956511
I don’t usually use the phrase projection because no one ever uses it right as a meme buzzword but you’re having a troonie loonie melty and projecting your failures on others. Who’s to say the people you’re replying to aren’t passionate just because academia as an industry has become more about politics and less about merit so we find the character Fletcher and the movie as a whole hard to swallow?
>>
>>214956582
you don't understand and you never will because you're not a participant in life you're a spectator. you're a useless eater. why you think your median knowledge median income median life point of view is worth posting is a mystery to me. you're a non-entity

Aren't you late for a talk with your mom about moving out of her house?
