Why does it filter teevee so hard?
Malick movies are meh
>>214962985>STAROS! YOU GET YOUR MEN UP THAT HILL! THAT'S A DIRECT ORDER! DAMNIT, STAROS! DO YOU HEAR ME!?>... no u.
>>214962985This place is infested with capeshitters and slopthusaists.
>>214962985Because it deconstructs supposedly “anti-war” movies like Apocalypse Now or Full Metal Jacket and evidences how they’re actually pro-war. And how the “war is hell” mantra is just a way to justify to yourself why you enjoy watching some deranged asshole firebomb a jungle filled with gooks and surfing waves caused by the explosions other than the fact that it is visually and conceptually cool as fuck and that you yourself are a degenerate too. By making everyone a crybaby faggot, the killings feel like cold bloded murder, and the nature shots much more interesting than any action in the movie, Malick is turning the war genre on its head, challenging any expectation that the viewer had about what they were going to see. Why are you expecting action heroes? Chinks being murdered to be fun? Explosions and heroism in every battle? War is not hell because its filled with fire and violence, its hell because its absurd and banal and no one really wants to be there. Just like you dont really want to see anymore of the fucking movie after the third monologue. Plebs and retards couldn’t catch the message in a conscious level, but unconsciously they did, and they got mad about it.

>>214963209This. It’s an actual cerebral film, so it filters midwits. Although Badlands and Days of Heaven are both better films than Thin Red Line.
Simple answer: because it was so fucking boring. I couldn't even get through the first ten minutes.

>>214963675The underlying message of the movie is that war is not a cool vacation filled with explosions, and that it’s actually boring and gay and it doesn’t make sense. It’s actually genius that the movie itself is boring and gay and doesn’t make sense.
>>214962985The book is so much better is not even funny.A proper miniseries based on From Here to Eternity when?
>>214963614gay
It's easily in my top 3 movies
>>214963614nope lots of people want to be there and take it very seriously
>>214962985There's not actually a red line in it
It's what got me into kino when I was in my teens. Before that I just watched movies.
