Why is Naboo design and architecture so superior to literally everything else in the galaxy? Even their pistols mog the galaxy in aesthetics.
>>214964610It's just basic bitch curvy chrome 101, you'll find it in every 70s scifi pulp novel's cover
>>214964610
>>214964610This is basically a silver SR-71.
>>214964610Because Lucas based the ships off different eras of real life aviation(or the guy who designed the ships did)
>>214964610It doesn't look superior, it looks gaudy. Like rich people trying to show off
>>214964771It's like poetry
>>214964768the only similarity on this pic is that they both have wings
>>214964768The naboo starfighter is just a backwards xwing silhouette with a retro aesthetic.
>>214965008anon... real life exists
>>214964610It's like a royal offshoot to Empire cause they even had an expensive battle droid fight
>>214965008>>214964979post ages
>>214965040Is that a turboprop?
>>214964610Different eras
>>214964610They blew a lot of money on having only a small number of fancy looking sleek and silver high tech designs. Naboo is a Mid-Rim mining world, most of their wealth comes from mass raw materials extraction, so the 1% living at the top can have fancy shit.
>>214964610Essentially because the prequels were made decades after the core design of the saga.
>>214965008Backwards x wing, without the wings, with inset guns, completely different cockpit, completely different style
>>214964768>Because Lucas basedFTFY
My favorite ship in all six Star Wars movies. What a beauty.
>>214964610They are Space Germany/Austria. They had a lot of money and blew it on a small number of super expensive hightech ships that look good but aren't actually designed to be used in a real war. If they had used a run-of-the-mill ship in order to escape then they would not have to make gambling based slave deals with a shady space-merchant just to get a rare part for repairs.
>>214964610I like the shape but Im not sure about the shiny silver. I feel like that draws way too much attention. If I were flying around in the star wars universe with it, I would probably paint it black.
>>214965762Qui-Gon could have asked other merchants to see if they had a Naboo hyperdrive, but for some reason he trusted the shady space merchant's claim that only he had one. Then assuming nobody else really had a hyperdrive, he could have used his Jedi mind tricks to coerce those other traders to take credits for something that he could then use for trade with Watto for the hyperdrive. Worst case, he could have traded the whole ship for a different, cheaper but still space worthy ship. If a child can make a pod racer out of random junk, then there must be many ships available. But the plot had to happen, so the wise Qui-Gon has to act like a gambling-brained moron. Bravo Lucas.
>>214965040>>214965064>>214965443Did you not read the word "silhouette"?
>>214965831something something The Living Force
>>214964610Where's the porthole
>>214965831You are right that maybe Qui Gon should have checked with other merchants, but he wasn't trying to only save Anakin. He wanted to save everyone in the ship, and get them off the planet. So he couldn't just get a small shuttle and escape. >Worst case, he could have traded the whole ship for a differentNo. That would draw too much attention. They were being tracked remember?
