With each passing moment, he was becoming more and more hypoxic. He knew it was a mere matter of time before he lost consciousness and died, hence why he begs Luke to take his mask off so he can look on him with his own eyes.

There's nothing technically wrong with the flight though. It makes sense that Jedi can use the Force to propel themselves in a no-gravity environment, just like they use it to perform massive jumps when there is gravity.
