But Avatar is the only franchise/stand alone movie that's carrying the blockbuster mantle these days. It's the only entry where you feel the resources needed to be considered a proper Hollywood blockbuster have been allocated.
>>214990588I didn't care about avatar 2
>>214990639Nobody did, yet it still made 2.3 billion
>>214990588I haven't watched any of these, but you're right.
>>214990588
>>214990588Looks like a Warcraft game cover.
Bringing quaritch back in abatap 2 was lame. What's next, are they going to bring him back in abatap 3 as a cyborg this time?
>>214990656Ain't that the fucking truth.
>>214990690>everyone's blue>navi are anti-immigrant, trad-religious>female combat: only to please a male (bechdel test FAILED)it's indubitably /oursaga/
>>214990690>diversity: highI can't remember a single non white in the first movies.
>>214990724there's an actual cyborg in 3 though not Quaritch
>>214990690Quaritch becoming a Na'vi constitutes a (leftist) race swap? 9 foot tall alien women as combatants is leftist symbolism?A racially "diverse" cast even though it's for extraterrestrials? Is this shit written by AI? Because it's super shallow and only superficially accurate. >>214990724Quaritch was always planned to return because his redemption as a character will mean something unlike general Ardmore who is subtly shown to be a significantly shittier/evil human being than Quaritch ever was and it will be "because" she is a woman even if its never stated outright. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRvskuX0CgAVs.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsIDoazDoaI
These films suck ass and the only positive thing is an image shared online of the soldier bad guy with a quote that isn’t from the film
>>214990588Literally the only series I look forward to anymore and will see in theaters. It's what star wars used to be for me. An actual big event to anticipate and be excited for.
>>214991715>visible diversity within its castthey're mostly blue though
>>214991715that's very clearly AI that can't even get the facts right
>>214990690aaand dropped
>>214991744You’re brown
>>214992201>feathered headcrownholy shit there are birds on pandora??
>>214990656Its getting a rerelease and will make anudda billy
>>214992533it's leaves that look like feathers
>>21499121622nd century Earth can grow human-alien mutts but they can't grow his arm back
>>214992644They can grow it back. They could fix Jake's spine even but it cost money and time and he wants to get back out for revenge. So shut the fuck up you no-watching nitpicking bitch.
>>214992644why go through through the pain of growning a new arm to full size, then getting it back into shape if you can get a sick robot armwhich all the military gals that went to pandora with you probably get off on as a bonusbetter question is why the meathead from the first movie didn't get robot legs instead of becoming a blue personor did humanity get a massive tech boost because of the unobtainiumi haven't watched the second one yet
>>214990588As someone who didnt get through 20 minutes of the first movie and never watched the second movie. Is it worth watching the second movie?
>>214991715Who is Rin'ala? Some extra in the background?
>>214992477Brown and bug people love this movie. Almost no white people talk about this bad movie
>>214990588Based post. You're right. Another thing that's undeniable is that the Avatar film franchise is the only film franchise in recent years that's actually worthy of buying an expensive ticket. Not only that, but the Avatar films are worthy of buying a 3D ticket and 3D tickets are EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE than 2D tickets. The reason why the Avatar films are worthy of buying a 3D ticket is because the Avatar films were MADE to be seen in 3D on the big screen, because the cinematic experience is integral to the Avatar film franchise. The Avatar film franchise is highly immersive and transportive - and that elevates the Avatar film franchise above your average franchise slop (like Marvel and DC, for example). I'm genuinely excited to see Fire And Ash. In fact, it's the only film from this year I actually WANT to see and it comes out at the fucking end of the year. Oh well, at least we're getting a lot closer now.
It's basically the only franchise that still has that '90s/'00s blockbuster aura about it. Everything else is just overly preachy slop now.
>>214990588tfw no Oona wife
sex with blue catgirl aliens
>>214993469She's a pyromaniac now
>>214992201Same for me. I don't care if the plot is retold Pocahontas, I personally see that those movies clearly have a soul and are passion project for Cameron and everyone involved, including the actors. This series is escapism at its best and almost the only mainstream refuge from the endless superhero slop. For me that's more than enough
>>214993494NANC
>>214993610>I don't care if the plot is retold PocahontasThat was only the first one and a very simplistic view. It doesn't encompass what is now a trilogy of movies whatsoever.
>>214990588i want a big blue wife!
>>214993695I know, but it's a common point of its haters. The first movie still should only be watched in the Extended version, the theatrical cut suffers too much from the lack vital character development scenes. The Extended cut also explains their motivations much better
>>214993610>one dude fucks a native>IT'S POCAHONTAS ALL OVER AGAIN!!You could say that about hundreds of movies bro, stop referencing to it when it has absolutely nothing to do with it.
>>214990588think of all the amazing movies we could have gotten if He didn't waste all this time and effort making these movies.
1 and 2 where the same movie and 3 is probably gonna be also and normies are quickly realizing that.
>>214993908Think of the lack of Avatar porn.
>>214990588I mean, this is true and it's an astonishing theatrical experience but the story, characters have no bite. I am aware Cameron wants to keep this family-friendly and whatnot but it really has no interesting hook or sci-fi gri to it and after leaving the theatre, it feels like you watched a superfluous cartoon. >>214993301I love Avatar and paid to see it THRICE in theaters but do you share my disappointment in how little explored and fleshed out the story is thus far? It feels like Cameron frets too much over the logistics and tech side and neglects the story and character side. When the concept of an evil N'avi tribe was unearthed, I came up with such amazing ideas in my head about how that would shift the series into a darker, more epic tone and yet the new movie looks remarkably....pale. It just doesn't have that amazing potential I envisioned in my head. The villain being a female and the ash na'vi just being regular na'vi with no unique features is incredibly disappointing to me. I love Jimbo but I wish he had a younger writer with more grit working on these movies to add some much needed darkness (in proper dosages) and operatic scale.
>>214992756too many hormone pills, the point is biology seems to be the forefront of Earth tech, like why they're hunting space whales for immortal brain goo
>>214994124None of what you wrote is true. It's objectively false actually.
>>214990881huuuuuh michelle rodriguez???????
>>214990881>I can't remember a single non white in the first movies.Zoe Saldana says hi
>>214994231They're not very intelligent, have zero attention span, and barely watch the movies they complain about. But somehow they think their copy+pasted demonstrably false comments portray them as highly intelligent and brave.

>>214994197If it was, you'd reply more substantially. You had your shot to prove me wrong and wasted it thus reinforcing what I said. Thanks, fuckhead.
>>214994527Not at all. Most of them were Maori. Many of the Recoms were minorities. Still plenty of non-white regular troops but it's not focused on the humans

>>214994836So what?
every single person irl talks about these movies. annoying actually. i don't want to hear about avatar quite so much
>>214995098>i don't want to hear about avatar quite so muchIt's the next major release of the year, and the third installment of literally the most popular movie of all time.
