The wrapper story is alright, but has nothing to do with anything, as it has been for many films now. The first story was uninspired trash with unlikeable two female leads. Second story done by REC guy is good but simple, also has a referenceto thenfirst REC film. Third story has REALLY bad acting but is vaguely novel, if you can ignore the le chud caricature character. Fourth was plain torture porn of children, as expected from a Jewish writer. Final one was probably the most fun and "Halloweeny"
Overall it wasn't a bad entry in the series, but easily skippable.

No one should expect any wraparound from any VHS movie to be 'good' at this point. Only mediocre or bad and this was mediocre.

Would have given it a 5/10 if it wasn't blatantly ripping off a prominent horror movie that came out in the last few years. These types of segments should be classified as 'filler.' Not awful, but not great either. Just there to take up space.

Given who the director/writer is it shouldn't surprise anyone it turned out to be good. But just that; solidly good.

Well it finally happened; one of these directors remembered horror is meant to be horrifying and he fucking nailed it. Genuinely creepy from the very beginning and only gets creepier as it went along. One of the best VHS segments throughout the entire series.

Doesn't start off promising, but gradually becomes an episode of Goosebumps but for adults. Would have rated it hire if it didn't spend so much time on the moody teenage son/boomer horror dad dynamic that amounted to absolutely nothing.

Overall I'd give the entire movie a 7/10. Probably the best VHS since the second one. The third story is the only one I genuinely hated. Fuck everyone involved in that piece of LE HECKIN REDDIT WHACKY XD shit.

I hate the modern trauma horror trend but I found the stupid mouse monster episode really charming, I think it's my favourite, but don't know about best. Maybe the public television one is the Best.
