>Right off the bat, Bruckheimer gave a promising update on the planned sixth installment in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. “We’re working on a script,” Bruckheimer told TheWrap’s Drew Taylor, before noting that the project will not move forward until he and his collaborators are happy with what has been written. “If we don’t have it on the page, it’s not gonna get on the screen.”>“We had two scripts at one point, and then one kind of dropped out and we kind of went with the other one,” Bruckheimer said, when asked about the past iterations of the still-developing sequel. Contrary to previous reports, Bruckheimer revealed that “Barbie” star Margot Robbie, who was reportedly set to star in a scrapped take on “Pirates 6” years ago, is still attached in some capacity to the franchise’s next installment.>She’s still involved,” the producer said, adding that “Pirates” franchise veteran Ted Elliott contributed to the sixth installment’s current script. “He worked on it, and we’ve brought someone else in to fill in the blanks.”https://www.thewrap.com/jerry-bruckheimer-pirates-6-top-gun-3-national-treasure-3-updates-the-grill-2025/
>>215010984Another box office flop for Margo and Disney
>>215010984>no Depp no watchBut seriously I always thought Barbossa was the heart and soul of those movies. He was the real pirate.
>>215010984Margot's already too old. Just look at Taylor Swift, who's the same age.
Just imagine the humiliation if they release her and Depps movie at the same time.
>>215010984as a whore of tortuga? yes please
I haven't rewatched any of the Pirates movies in years. I remeber 1 being absolute kino, what do you think about the rest of them anons?
Sure I read one idea was to have a love/hate thing with two female rivals in Margot Robbie and Karen Gillan
>>2150119081 remains light-in-in-a-bottle kino, one of the last gasps of truly fun-loving Hollywood. 2 and 3 became overstretched in scope, content and runtime. Tried too hard to catch the LotR audience with an epic storyline that drained the fun out of it.By the time 4 and 5 came along the talent was gone on both sides of the camera.
>>215011951I'll just rewatch 1 and leave it at that. Such a great adventure movie. I only remember that kaya something in a coresett from the other movies lmao
>>215011908Gore Verbinski. Those are the only two words you need to know.
>>215011293it was so hype when he came back at the end of 2. I know he was resurrected by a witch or whatever, but I don't remember anyone I saw it with giving a fuck lol
>>215010984These films will struggle without Jack Sparrow and if your solution to replace him is a woman then you might as well pack it up right now and give up. It's not gonna be a success.
>>215010984I swear I've been hearing about this 6th Pirate movie for 5 years now
>>215011908I've only seen 1 and 2. The first one was fine, nothing special but the raid on Port Royal and the ending fight were kino.2 was embarrassing. Genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm not keen to watch 3 seeing as it's just Dead Man's Chest 2.Oh yeah, and I'm just gonna say it; Jack Sparrow is a boring non-character who only shines because of how absolute fucking bland his supporting and tertiary protagonists are. The character overstays his welcome in the franchise five minutes into the second film, and presumably throughout the next three.
>we need a female pirate that’s as scary as Barbosa! >we need a nude scene of a 40 year old woman so it doesn’t offend anyoneWhen movie makers stop pasting ideas together let me know. With six movies decades go by. The audience grows out of the characters and the writers don’t make it consistent or progress the character with the story in ways that is fun. This is because they hire different writers with no context other than to make a big hit movie. So we get garbage (like JP world). We’re gonna get pirate zombies. Disney loves vampires, witches, and zombies right now.
>>215012986There is no nudity in dumb disney park rides, unless she wanna use the mermaid outfit
