I require to see your favorite movie oosters anons
>>215011937>movie poster :(>movie poster, Japan :OOOdie faggot
>>215011952Here's the regular version that's equally as cool since you're throwing a tanty about the text
>>215011982I like this one
>>215011937>Oh look a cute fantasy movie starring two teenage actors.
>>215011937The movie is as cool as it seems btw
>>215012115I dropped the movie halfway in, you aren't kidding. Excellent poster though
>>215011937
>>215012135Kino
>>215012135That's not the "poster", it's a home video release cover. The actual poster isn't actually good, but at least there's a "concept" to it simple as it is.It's peculiar how that general cheap DVD cover framework shares a lot with what makes for a successful YouTube thumbnail
>>215012135My waifu
>>215012255Technically this version was also used in the first VHS and the first DVD release, but this version >>215012135was used in the UNRATED extended cut DVD and BD releases, it is also used in the more recent releases and when the movie is included in those "3 or 2 movies in one" DVD packages, the reason as to why Cerina Vincent's character is so prominent on this version is because most of her scenes where removed from the Theatrical version and it's old VHS/DVD releases, but the Unrated cut added all her removed scenes back in
>>215012458I'm both impressed and weirded out by that display of granular knowledge about NATM releases lol
>>215011937I love the layouts and style of some Jap posters but they often completely mischaracterize the movie just to make it more marketaburu
>>215012506Then again Western distributors also do that often enough
Kino supreme
>>215012105There's a version of that poster without the fantasy creatures which is more faithful to the tone of the movie. But back then they promoted the film as a Narnia-like adventure and the trailer was 100% concentrated on a part that lasts 2 minutes in the actual film. Producers justified this by explaining that they really wanted everyone to watch their movie. Since Kangaroo Jack that I haven't seen such blatant lying in advertising.Pic related, it's the original poster when this was on theaters. I never saw the forest poster until the DVD came out.
Rambo: Last Blood official poster drawn by Baki's mangaka Keisuke Itagaki
show me smoochie
>>215012529>The graphic novelFunny, I didn't know that buzzword was played up in mainstream marketing from that early on
>>215012607Much easier to market "graphic novel" to westerners than "manga"
>>215012582Holy fuck
>>215012636At that point, to Westerners in the USA maybe. Manga/anime were hot marketing terms in Europe already by the late 80s
>>215012689Sure. the US world experience a Disney renaissance about the time Akira released. It's interesting to think if an anime takeover could have happened earlier had that not happened. Japan still can't get into 3D though.
loved this as a kid
>>215012788Thought it was a Lupin anime at first glance.
One of those instances where the re-release poster is better than the original. All the next posters including VHS, DVD and Blurays are horrible and soulless.
Paintings > Photographs
>>215012615am i insane for thinking this movie is just retarded fun? love the intro
>>215011937It's a hard to pick only one. I love almost all of Kubricks. The Thing >>215012519 is great. 12 Angry Men, Evil Dead 2, Star Wars, Hellraiser, Jurassic Park, The Terminator, Silence of the Lambs, Natural Born Killers, Amadeus, Robocop, Irreversible, The Mask, Dawn of the Dead, Amelie, Halloween, Anatomy of a Murder, Vertigo, Scream, Pulp Fiction.... They're all great.
>>215012851I love the artistry of that era of painted posters, but my hot take is that a "real" movie poster doesn't need to be a painting any more that a movie needs to be shot on film. The Advent of Slop has made easier to put things in perspective and realize what the truly important rules in the sand are, but people still cling to these old traditionalist blanket principles for whatever reason and praise movies just because of "practical effects" and things like that.
>>215011954Something is wrong there.
>>215012950Great poster. It's a shame what the studio did to that movie though: 10/10 first half, subzero final stretch.
>>215012894>retarded funIt has the same problem as Problem Child 2. There's too much of the tardness. It goes on non-stop which requires a lot from the viewer or else it becomes tiring. There are very few pauses to relax. Compare it to other "insane" movies like The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, The Holy Grail, This is Spinal Tap, Tropic Thunder. They all scale down their nonsense at certain times, letting the audience focus on something else like romance, political discussion, musical show, action sequences.
Scarface
I miss when posters included all the action scenes of the movie.Bonus points for having the model use the swimsuit backwards.
>>215013002I don't think a single movie poster trend has both been a cute novelty and IMMEDIATELY overstay its welcome as fast as this one did
Thinking of hanging this on my wall then hanging myself
>>215013016Scarface's poster is so visually cool but simple I wonder how the fuck someone could make something like that
>>215013471this fucking thing annoys me every single time I see it
>>215012923What do you mean? I dont know why I took it an an angle. Probably to get the whole thing I guess.
>>215013673Magnetic Rose is good
>>215012719this one is cool but the original chris watts one is even better
>>215013942I like the soup reference.
>>215011952i will not
Can't go wrong with Frank Frazetta
>>215014009
>>215013995>he has no shoes!kek
