True Detective Season 2 is the greatest show ever written. Its narrative complexity and witty dialogue, memorable for all of the right reasons, is the spice of life for internet tough guys like myself. If I had friends we would do nothing but watch True Detective Season 2 while discussing its innumerable merits.The defining series of a generation. The epitome of the noir genre. True Detective Season 1 is the sweet spot. It isn't so brilliant as it's direct continuation S4 which is more intriguing, but it has so much other stuff going for it- Brilliant actors (I'm literally McConahey and I wrote him about that, currently waiting response)- Story about 2 friends driving around and one fucking other's wife- They encounter many mysteries and mysterious objects (some of them directly tie in to S4 that explains a lot)- Martin is a staunch democrat and it resonates with me, a show has to have a stance- Rustin is just Supermen, in plain clothes- It also addresses women rights and exploitation- It's openly antichristian, I mean who's not in 2025, no one of my Reddit contacts is religious- "The maybe he painted this house" was a clue that only I saw in advance, this shows how smart the writing is, not for regular normies- The twist that it was a lawnmower is EPIC, there wasn't such twist since the 50 episodes of Miss Marple
