Clever guy who surrounded himself with VERY VERY smart people and crucially knew when the right times to let them run wild and when to reign them in were. He put good guardrails on classic era Simpsons that the writers and storyboarders butted up against, but the restrictions really kept the show working.

Aside from the more direct references, he created a loser character so people would associate it with his very distinctive middle name.If Nixon really was taken down by the CIA, it leads to some awkward questions.
