still the greatest acting performance of ALL time
phoenix's performance was better
What if Heath Ledger is just like that IRL and him in 10 Things I Hate About You and a Knight's Tale are the best acting performances of all time?
RAPED
>>215035182when I watch joaquin joker i just see joaquin pheonix larping as a depressed incelheath ledger completely melted into the role, there is nothing there except joker
>>215035166thank god he died and gets to be remembered as a legend instead of going through a gauntlet of humiliation rituals in TDKR and being forgotten.
>>215035208that's because he was the joker at that point before he killed himself
>>215035208Also Mikey Madison in Anora is on the same level.
>>215035166daniel plainview is damn close but overall I agree
>>215035166he truly carried this film, without heath its a totally forgettable slop. every other actor cant even be taken seriously especially christian bale and his stupid meme voice
>has bog standard california accent>famous as a rat pack tier entertainer and massive alkie>knows fuck all about karate i'm going to give the nod to pat morita
>>215035254when you rewatch youll see how fucking awful this film is, not only is it propaganda to blow the patriot act, its not even remotely close to being as good as batman begins. Heaths performance is outstanding though, not sure if that justifies its imdb ranking or consensus top 3 film ever made from normiesphere. I despise TDK, its everything MK ultra aspired to be coming to fruition
>>215035166Nope
It's like i've seen this exact thread with the exact same posts before...
bump
its a normie take but I honestly dont know what I would put above heath ledger joker. I often wonder if that role had any part in him having to pop 8 different narcotics just to get through the day.
2 different kinds of opiates2 different kinds of benzos2 different sleeping aidsall in his bloodstream at the time of his death. how fucking retarded do you have to be to mix this many pills and think its going to be hunky dory. im a fucking pill junkie and I would never get close to that kind of insane cocktail. at most Id take the pain pills and break off a TINY bit of benzos to mix with it, anything more than that is insanity
nope
>>215035744i agree as much as its a normie opinion still has its merits. To counter I would say Brando as the Godfather would probably be my take. Daniel day american perforrmance in will be blood is remarkable too but i like last of the mohicans better. Is DDL the best ever but not top ever, hard to say. But heaths ledger will forever remain in the debate
Because im a mentally ill pyscho he comes across as timid fake pathetic and laughably bad.
>>215035254I honestly don't know how Nolan was able to get such lame performances out of some of the great actors in these movies. Oldman is cast against type as Gordon but he's just milquetoast and almost bored reading the lines, besides the one scene where he bargains with Dent.Aaron Eckhart is an average actor but they just let him chew scenery as soon as he becomes Two-Face, which is why his whole rampage feels out of sync with the rest of the movie.Bale doesn't get to be Bruce enough in this movie, he was good in Begins doing the airheaded playboy act at the restaurant, and he had depth in serious scenes with Alfred. In TDK it feels like every scene of Bruce is just Bale staring stoically into the middle distance while someone else talks to him. The Batman voice hadn't really become meme level yet, the only time is when he's yelling in the interrogation scene (which is basically how all the lines in TDKR are delivered btw).Michael Caine is underutilized here, again Alfred and Bruce had some great scenes in Begins and they just aren't allowed that by the script. Same with Morgan Freeman.Without Heat Legend it would feel like a disappointment and waste of time because of this. Nolan is a hack.
