i had to buy my ticket in person instead of online like i usually do because i had a coupon and the zoomette behind the counter hit me with a confused "just the one?" when i ordered. its over.

What the fuck is wrong with that question? She was just making sure you didn't need any more tickets, as is her job. You spergs are ridiculous and you actually deserve to feel embarrassed by that encounter.

What is working at a movie theater like?

>What is working at a movie theater like?
I'm sure it's great if you hate movies. The theater industry has been working overtime to ruin the movie viewing experience for decades.
>>
>>215035930
What was that? Speak up anon I couldn't hear you!
>>
>>215035583
She probably meant nothing by it and she was just asking to make sure, like anyone behind a counter does, you just interpreted it in the worst way possible

>no singles policy
>mandatory showers for certain screenings.
>can watch a g or pg rated movie anytime

Check your privilege

>"just the one?"
There are many different interpretations for that statement.
>naive
She simply wants to confirm whether you need any more tickets.
>vaguely flirty
She's wondering why you aren't with someone, because you look like someone who should be there with a girlfriend.
>insulting
She is mocking you for being there alone, which to her is odd.
You made the mistake of assuming it was the latter. The difference between a confident and an unconfident person is their ability to assume at least neutral meanings from others. For more awkward people, it takes genuine effort to achieve this. You dislike yourself, so you assume everyone must naturally dislike you, too. This isn't the case, and you must constantly challenge these thoughts when they appear.
You may well never meet this person again. Why let such a benign interaction negatively impact you? The answer is: don't. Good luck.

At least there are no mandatory penis inspections, right?

>Go to movies
>Purchase ticket from self serve machine
>Pour your own slushie
>Pre-made popcorn tubs on heated shelves
>Get charged $20+ upon entering with snacks
>Someone directs you left or right to your cinema

Ever since this format it feels as if they stopped doing combos with special film merchandise. Growing up I remember like 2 minutes of adverts, now it's like 10 minutes of Universities, Defence force, Housing Agencies & Airline flight bookings. Then when the upcoming trailers finally start, you get some disgusting coon rapping in your kids ears

But hey at least you only paid 50 bucks for the outing you organized with your loved ones, also people who share your skin-tone die on screen left & right without putting up a fight, haha take that westerner!
(Main character female and tyrone don't take a scratch)

Shitty glorified fast food worker when you're at the bottom. As a GM the most annoying thing is tard wrangling all our high school employees since their work ethic is dogshit.
>>
>>215035583
How the fuck did you get away with buying a single ticket and not get thrown into the crab leg mines?

If you have a flagship tv from any good brand you will never go to the shitema ever again .

idiot. the response to that is you smile and say "well I was hoping you'd join me".

it was fun for a bit, we were mostly a bunch of 18-20 something stoners
then our hiring manager decided to hire actual retards and freaks instead of normal people. the cool people started quitting and then it was just a cascading effect of people leaving because nobody wanted to work with the wierdos

it was shitty at times, lots of karens, and children's movie releases were absolute nightmares. i grew to despise the white upper middle class family (we were in a wealthy area) because of the unbridled entitlement and ridiculous expectations they exhibited
>we had an oven and sold some baked items
>people would order them and then fly into a rage when it took 5 minutes on a couple occasions
>people constantly demanding for us to make fresh popcorn and getting pissed when we told them "yeah we don't do that"
if certain people asked me to scoop them the freshest popcorn i'd deliberately serve the stale shit and if they complained i could just refer them to the manager because i "wasn't authorized to give free refills or refunds" and "had to get to other customers first"
looking back i should've done this more often. luckily our managers and GM understood how much of our customers were assholes so we could get away with some stuff

one time i was serving a large drink and by some defiance of gravity the thing flew off the tray and EXPLODED all over a customer. i froze in place. customer was surprisingly cool about it, and they got all their shit + their movie for free
one of the people hired for me was an obese goblin who quit the first day because she spent her lunch break gobbling down like 3 of the foot long hot dogs. apparently she blew up the family restroom so bad a manager had to clean it, and then just disappeared after her lunch break, never to be seen again

i had gone out to a restaurant for the first time in like 2ish years and the hostess didn't just say, "it's just you??" but after i over exaggeratedly pretended to look around for the party of people i obviously wasn't with to belittle her -which passed over her head completely - she looked at me with these saucer-plate wide eyes and did a huge, chin raising, cartoon like gulp, and then slowly nodded and swung her hand out to lead me to a seat like she was directing me toward my own casket. she was in total disbelief at the idea somebody would eat alone. who did she seat next almost immediately after me? like 3 other fucking people all eating alone. what do you expect an hour before noon on a weekday you stupid bitch i'm hungry, i'm out, and i want something good that i didn't prepare for once

the craziest part to me is they even usually teach hosts in restaurants not to make any dumb ass faggot comments about patrons eating alone or not. it's generally a good practice in any jobs not to make snide little remarks so casually like you know the person: grocers commenting on everything you buy, ticket cashiers commenting on your movie choice (or party size), and of course hosts/waiters commenting on your party size or food choices

and to all the socially retarded and emotionally deaf autists coping in this thread - she was absolutely shitting on him lmao not clarifying anything. you don't need any more "clarification" it's ONE guy standing in front of you. if you can't realize how explicit an insult that is you should at least be able to appreciate the backhandedness of asking this to somebody who is standing there completely alone and has obviously been since they walked in from the front entrance 10 feet away, and hasn't otherwise said "i'm waiting for X"

think i'm wrong? go with a group. they're not going to furrow their brow and look at you and go "FIVE people?" after you've already said "5 tickets for this movie" like they sometimes do when you say "1 ticket"
