Dropping the basic Dorne story from the show is probably the most baffling decision they ever made since it's a very self-contained pretty alright basic girlboss story with a big reveal at the end. It's basically made for a tv show.

Author is only good as his ability to finish their stories. All of the plot points you like are secondary to the main plot line's he built up, he's spoiled his own story and they aren't in the "end game".
