At times I felt endearment towards Agnes and Snood when watching the show, I just went along with it and allowed myself to care for the characters, because some cruel things do happen to them, there was a moment where I thought Agnes was going to be killed, and Wednesday bullied her a few times too. The characters are entertaining and interesting to watch from a writing perspective too.I'd like to write too and I don't know how Tim Burton does it, as far as I know his characters are somewhat unique in tv and film. Everyone is like a caricature, not entirely comedic but not entirely serious. Some actors are directed to play straight while others campy, I guess the creative direction is something approximating a 'real life cartoon'.The main characters' demeanour can be morbid or bizarre and they say weird shit all the time but that's contrasted with good actions, so it's tough to wrap your head around it if you try to psychoanalyze them, because there's also a streak of innocence to them too, so it's all a mess. I guess the point of the show is have you feel compassion for the cute 'outcasts'. Also I just remembered I haven't watched the last episode
