has anybody figured out which scenes where shot on 35mm?
>>

scene 15, scene 9, scene 70, scene 12

The director still hasn't figured it out either.

>He decided though, to shoot on 35mm some scenes, the more intimates ones, like the conversation between the two main actors on the boat. To minimize the change from one format to the other, Malaimare used Zeiss Jena lenses which smoothed a lot the transition although a difference in grain structure can be noticed.

Think I found a 35mm one

>Malaimare
I don't think this guy did anything on The Master, it has been confirmed by the camera operator that they were not on speaking terms and PTA basically did it all himself. Which definitely checks out given the body of work by Malaimare since that movie.

> The Master is a film that remains too distant and cold, actors do a good job but they really never connect with the audience; it looks like Anderson didn't have anything to say and the story never hooks. Unfortunately the cinematography reflects these lacks: The Master is wonderfully lit but the light rarely transmits something.
what fucking pleb is this

Maybe I would have believe that a decade ago, but not after seeing Licorice Pizza and OBAA.
>>
>>215043765
yeah low light and cramped spaces, the lettuce field, the wedding reception on the boat and probably the first processing scene
>>
>>215045137

Camera operator confirms it in this interview. Skip 54 minutes in for the PTA talk
